Live from the stand thread

Just had this grey fox come by. I thought I might have my first coyote. He looked up, smiled, and went on his way.

Chummer,
To bad you didn't get a shot.

I'm breaking all my rules. Hunting early and in the same stand twice in a row. After I left last night a porker showed up on camera and there were deer in the clover patch all night so I didn't blow the stand.

Same wind today but stronger, blowing my stink into the cow pasture.

So yee yee yee, Live Action.

Here is further left in the clover. deer skirt between the corn and the tree my camera is on. The dirt patch n the clover is an old mineral site. No more of that allowed in my county but at least I don't have to cover it.

I could have but I was hunting suburban deer. He helps keep the rabbits and squirrels out of my back yard. First grey I have seen though, we have a lot of reds.

Oh I miss read your post. Thought you saw a fox and a yote. I wouldn't shot a fox either. I don't keep chickens.

Not much live action today.

Saw a coon. That's it.

That grey has the blackest legs I've ever seen on one though. Cool sight when you see 'em. Got any cats there ??

That is why I thought it was a yote coming. No cats here. I have seen a couple in summer at camp but never got a picture of one.

First morning hunt of the year. I've seen 9 so far, all does, and I don't know how many turkeys.

These late October morning hunts are great. You don't have to get up so dang early!

Saw two more small bucks out and about.

A 6 ptr and a doe early. Nothing after that yet.

Anybody other than Ed see a shooter out there today?

My pops let go a 4 year old 8 this morning at 5 yards. I probably would have shot it but he's pickier than I am and retired.

Still looking. My 16 old son is on that clover edge. I'm 80 yards down wind in a hedgerow more or less offering moral support. With a camera.

Hey he's got a turkey tag. Must not want to blow his stand. These had to walk under him.

Shame on them if they work over here. I have a tag too.

Yesterday at 145 had a beautiful thick chocolate timed 10 at 25 yards. The tines faded to white at their ends. Only prob was he was dead on facing me and I'm not going to take that shot. He knew something was not rt and there he was.....gone. Spun and trotted off. Latter the 2 I saw this am no deer till aody 5 then saw 7 meatheads all with fawns. Tomor looks wet here.

My son and I had a good hunt. No shots but a decent 8 came in from the wrong direction. (They never do that do they)

He walked right under me and headed to my son. Wind swirl cost him this one.
