There are a bunch of threads on it if you search the forum. It is a lot more expensive to achieve the same result. Nothing is effective for the long term. I know guys with very sandy soil that have to lime multiple times a year, each time they plant. With my heavy clay soil, I need 3 to 4 tons to amend new soil. Lime moves slowly through clay but I need a maintenance dose of 1 ton/ac every 4 or 5 years to keep the pH right. I use ag lime because of the cost and the large amount of acreage I plant. How fast lime works and how long it lasts is complex and involves your soil chemistry. The only case I can see for liquid lime is if you are planting small acreage and it is in some way more convenient for you to apply. Just like using BOB seed, the convenience may be worth the cost premium when you are only talking about a few dollars on a sub-acre plot. When you get into 10's of acres the cost premium could much be better applied to other habitat projects.
That's my 2 cents...
Thanks,
Jack
