Kawasaki Mule Owners: Let's hear the good, bad and the ugly

My profxt runs fine but it is not exactly like this motor sounds of quality. For the price these things are you would think they would have better engines. Neighbor has a honda pioneer 1000 and I'd stick with my mule pro over that.

Could you elaborate on why? If I do trade it in, I would like as much info on what to go with next as possible. Thanks.

No problems here with my Honda pioneer 1000. It probably gets used more on my farm then my tractor. All i’ve ever done is changed the oil.

For the honda I just meant my mule is a bit more practical. It seats 6 adults comfortably and has more space. The honda felt more fun though so if that is a factor, honda wins that battle.

I have a Pro FTX I got in april or so. Just passed my 20 hour mark. Love the thing. Can sit all 5 of us in our family for summer night ice cream runs, and will get the job done out at the farm too.

I don't have as long of an experience as some of you guys do, but so far I've been pleased. As I'd better be with a brand new unit.

No local shops can get me in for at least 3 weeks. Hope it is an easy fix that they can get done in the same day.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I have a 2020 Kawasaki mule pro fxt I bought new in November 2019. I absolutely love it! Great ride, plenty of power for what I needed, and enough seating for the entire family. I’ve got about 2,500 miles on mine so far and nothing has been done other than normal services.

Well, after 56 hours this Mule is going back to the shop for the second time. Took it in already for the 50 hour service and because it wasn’t wanting to start. That wasn’t fixed, it still spits and sputters when it starts and then today after returning from my property it started to idle extremely fast and won’t go into gear without grinding. I will call the shop tomorrow and get another apt. I will hopefully get it fixed and then try and trade it in for a Honda or Polaris.

As far as spit and sputter on startup, try letting the fuel pump run for a second before turning the key. I notice if I just turn the key all the way to start while the pump is still whirring, it sputters, but when I give it a second it never does.
I have the FX Pro and it's been awesome. No issues at all but there are some things that are irritating. Interior storage stinks and the air filter setup is garbage. On the plus side, there aren't many machines with a bed this big. Being able to carry a 100 gal gas powered sprayer with the tailgate closed is the main reason I chose this over the Honda 1000. The Can-am 6 wheel model now has it beat though :)

I have450 miles and 42 hours on mine now, couple nit picky things

1. The front seat gets HOT by your feet due to engine heat and lack of air movement
2. I have a slight knacking sound from the rear diff when the oil gets warm and Im going over 35. Nothing serious, but its noticeable.

Other than that, I love that puppy

There are a lot of people butting hood scoops on them I think it is heat coming from the radiator. To help send the air through them. Also if you do you tube or Facebook look up John Hester at Hester motorsporta he has a heat barrier he does on the mules.

Update: Took it in and the throttle body was sticking. They cleaned it, ran it around the shop for a few days and gave it back to me. Told me to call if it started doing it again. Worked for a few weeks but after a long ride with my boy the other day it started doing it again. Called the shop and the mechanic remembered me and said he would contact Kawasaki about parts and warranty and then get back to me. The guys at the shop have been great so far to work with.
On the trade-in front. There are no UTVs to be had. Every dealer around me is sold out and will be for quite some time. I have been reading of guys who paid thousands down back in the spring and still haven't gotten their machines.
Hopefully the shop gets back to me soon and I can get it in and taken care of and it will last this time.

I have 100 hours on mine no issues so far besides some squeaking from the brakes. I think I need to burn the glaze off yet. I drove 5 hours one way to pick mine up. Dealer wasn’t gouging and had 1 in stock so we took a nice little family vacation to pick it up. I think We have taken it around town at least 1x a day since we bought it kids love it
