Is this black trumpet?

i ran across these the other day and they seem gone black trumpet. I'm very new to this but I find it so fascinating. I live in Georgia and have found many typed of wild mushroom, yet the black trumpet seems hard to mistake. Is this black trumpet? What do you think of them? How do I cook them?

Man, that is outta my wheelhouse. But it's great to see a new face in the mushroom forum. Hopefully some of the southern guys can chime in and offer some input.

Those look just like the trumpets we find in WI. They are really good just cooked with butter. Trumpets have a lot of flavor, I rank them just as good as morels. They can be dried in a dehydrator and put in a food processor and made into a mushroom powder and added to many things for flavor. They are often used as a cheap version of the truffle's( the ones that go for thousands of dollars). I have seen them used as breading on fish, and also cooked and tossed in a cool salad. I have looked for them a couple of times this year, but only found ones from last year. They usually grow right out of clumps of moss.
