Hen of the woods?

I left a ton of these in the woods while checking cameras today. Did I mess up?

Yes Sir. Go back and get some. Pick the petals apart. Sautee in butter and onion. Freezes well also.

Went back for them, they grew!

Looks like I can try them several ways. Any other suggestions on how to prepare them?

I like them fried with olive oil and butter. The trick with hens is to cook them slow over a medium heat and keep them moist. Add more butter if they suck it up. Towards the end add fresh garlic and ground black pepper. They are kind of a pain to clean. I take and cut the lobes off and rinse them of with the sprayer on the sink. Be prepared for all the creatures that hang out inside them. Slugs, centipedes, spiders, etc.
