Harvest time

To expound a little on my theory - wood is a reasonably good insulator. Water is a good thermal conduit (conductor). Sap is high in sugars, so it's got at least some resistance to freezing. If I can burn off even 3 months of my incubation period over the winter, I'm still getting my first harvest next fall. If I wait until April, then they might not be ready to bloom until it's too cold out, and I get nothing next year.
