Habitat work doesn't have to be all work

What if I told you we worked all day friday, have low expectations for our roundup treatment working due to cold temps, broke the lime spreader, and got skunked friday night fishing for crappie? What if I told you we found a lousy six morels by chance in our plot, and fished for 10 hours today and caught one walleye? Would you call that a tough weekend?

Nope. We made the best of it!

Walleyes weren't cooperating, but we figured out a largemouth bass pattern and the sows came out!

This guy popped up right behind our boat.

Marvin can't really run an iPhone, so I only got my feet in today's photo dump.

And it all came together. We sliced up our 6 morels into twelve pieces, combined with our one walleye and both cheeks, a day old fridge dried onion, and put the whole stinkin works in foil/butter/salt/pepper over the campfire. Also had a few ribeyes as a backup. Absolutely delicious!
