Great weekend

Had a great firearms opening weekend here in IN. Lots of action- more than I ever recall having in the past! I hunted with my daughter and son and we all got deer. Emma got a fawn 75 lbs Saturday morning. And Tom got a big bodied younger buck (clean 8 points) 200 lbs Sunday evening. I also got a doe 135 lbs and a button buck 95 lbs Sunday evening as well. Now that the freezer will be full we hunt for something for the wall!

All from the Battle Wagon?

Emma's deer was from the battle wagon I and my boy watched. My deer and my boys deer was not. Emma has not hunted since she tagged her deer. My boy and I hunted from the battle wagon and saw more deer that afternoon, but we had not seen deer we was after. Sunday evening we hunted from different blinds and we each got our deer then. The battle wagon has created a place where now the other tower blinds I have are not up to par. It's nice being able to put all 3 of us in it and being able to seal it well. Gives us a good solid rest to shoot from and the new chairs are real comfy as well. Battle wagon has been great and we are eyeing other's as well.....or at least upgrading the other blinds.

Awesome family hunting! Sounds like the battle wagon turned out being a 10. Sure makes it nice knowing you have a solid stand always there waiting for you, rain or shine. I'm unhappy I decided to go fast and cheap on that experimental 4x4 hayrack blind. I'm going to take it off and set it on a floor in a permanent spot, and build a new 6x6 or 6x8 on the rack, possibly real construction, not sure yet. I want a blind on that rack that can hold my kids. Glad you guys got loaded up on delicious meat! Hope the big boy is next.
