Grant woods

Ah, bummer. That's the only show I watch...well produced, high quality, good tips, good science.

One of his former assistants has their own show now with much of the same habitat management philosophies, but located in northern Missouri. The youtube channel is called Land and Legacy.

I thought Adam’s land was in southern Missouri?

Adam Keith's farm is in SW Missouri. His podcast has some good topics but the information is so generic its kind of annoying.

And they spend the first thirty minutes talking about themselves. They annoy the ever loving hell out of me but I still listen cause I’m a habitat junky! I just do a lot of fast forwarding.

Ha! I think we have similar strategies there..

Thanks for that tip. I liked Adam when he was on GD. I'll check him out.

edit...I just went and watch the most recent episode of GD. He is not stopping production of GD. A few comments made it sounded like he was. I do agree that sometimes he struggles to find content. His commitment to do a weekly episode is certainly a stretch, and yes, his pro-staff hunts, and pig hunts are a boar (see what I did there?). But overall I find a lot of value in his approach and I do like his style. I'll take a boring Grant Woods pig hunt over the mindless blather on TV hunting shows. I tried watching Steve B.'s Deertopia a few times last fall. Gawd. Production quality, sound, and editing felt like a hokey VHS cable access program from 1983.

Just north of Branson, MO.
Is that a good area for big bucks? Not familiar... has he stacked up a bunch of booners?

According to him no. With that said I can’t think of any true booners they have shot?

I don't believe any booners have come from that county.

What blows my mind from his video is someone donated the 2300 acres he purchased to a hospital. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to sell. Make a fortune selling property and then most likely make money / new content managing said property = winning.

Archery wise, one has via Archerybigbucks.com. Not sure about gun.

I don't think so, his daughter donated a kidney to him not too long ago.. hope he's good for another 20 years. Super nice guy, I ran into him at a gas pump a couple weeks ago. Very gracious, even gave me a GD hat to boot :emoji_sunglasses:

He's probably just downsizing =) I couldn't imagine trying to keep up with 2300 acres.

I’m wondering if it might be a health issue.

Could be. If you watch the most recent episode he explains that he enjoys the habitat work and the pursuit of creating something special more than sitting back and enjoying it all. He also says he is looking forward to the next 600 episodes of GD.

He is also probably approaching retirement age and might be starting to think about downsizing and preparing financially for retirement.

Can't imagine leaving behind all of the work and memories he has created there though...and starting over from scratch on his remaining 500? Just to build the soil enough to grow what he does took nearly 20 years. He certainly has the resources to establish big plots in standing timber very quickly. But you can't build soil overnight.
