Electric seeder opinions??

Guys I’ve do quite a few plots for customers and in a search for things to make my job easier I’ve been looking at mounting an electric seeder on my culitpacker for seeding clover and smaller plots just to keep from unhooking pack and putting on 3pt seeder on just to seed small areas

I’ve seen that Moultrie has one with an adjustable gate and I believe swisher has one similar.
Any one have any opinions on either of these 2 options?? Thanks

I presume you are talking about a drop seeder vs a broadcast seeder if you are going to put it on a cultipacker. I don't think a broadcast seeder would make any sense. Most drop seeders I've seen are ground driven vs electric.

Actually I am talking about a broadcast seeder. Like in my small clover plots I pack them , spread seed and and back again .
Just trying to save time changing implements on tractor especially on small plots

Oh, I see, you are looking to make 2 passes, one to broadcast seed and one to pack. Most broadcast seeders don't adjust very well for small seed. For small seed like clover and brassica, Herd is spoken of highly for seed metering. However clover is best planted in the fall with a cereal grain nurse crop. When you mix the clover with the cereal grain, it acts as a carrier and you don't need that fine adjustment so any will work.

I have had the moultrie for three years. It works great on small seed. Larger seed does tend to hang some. The hopper needs an agitator. Mounted in the receiver hitch on my ranger, I find the spinner plate to be too low to the ground if seeding into standing vegetation. I have fabricated a mount to get it above the bed of the ranger. I also have a bed mount fimco 20 gal sprayer and I can even spray and seed at the same time
