Ours is Saturday, but I was not drawn for the quota hunt so will be getting some things done around the house. Logan is going on a pay hunt with some friends.

I shot 4 in the morning and finished my limit in the pm at another property.

Second day of season

Everything fell in standing beans yesterday, would have been impossible without the dog. We haven’t lost a bird yet.
Scouted the new pond and there are a bunch in the sunflowers, going to hit it Sunday.

A little slower tonight, the dog is having a great season so far.

I would have shot 2 cases of shells to kill all the birds you two hit.

Had a decent hunt this afternoon. The sunflower field is nice and close to the shed about an easy of a hunt as there is.

Hunted with both my boys this afternoon, my favorite hunts are with them. Hunting on our own property is icing on the cake!
Both dogs did really well.
Should be good for 2-3 more shoots we didn’t even make a dent in them.

Closed on my new place end of May this year. Scrambled to carve out a 2 acre area and get it planted in millet (since sunflowers get eaten by deer when they are2 inches tall). Tended to it this summer. Shot it yesterday for the first time. Had 14 guests, hamburgers for lunch, and a blast. Sat next to my 30 year old son, and was texting my 27 year old in Dallas so he could sort of participate as well! Got over 50 birds, but should have had WAY more. Apparently I need to sight in my shotgun. Both of them :-) Always fun to share a good time
