Thanks John, all cameras are running 8.1 and no neighbors hunt around me.

if they are showing a level, they are connecting to each other or the home. i would swap out SD cards if you feel they arent updating.. you can pm me your user name and password and ill take a look at your camp and see what i can find.

I believe I found the issue today. I went to check on the camera and the tree it was on had fallen over... haha

Hey guys new to the site. Just getting into these CuddeLink’s and it’s addicting for sure. Have an issue with 2 J cams we bought yesterday though. Installed the new firmware in them and now the menu screen is frozen on Batt dead and won’t let me access anything. Took batteries out and let them sit and still it says welcome and then right to battery dead. New batteries and 2 different brands. Pretty stumped for sure. Anybody have a fix for this? Maybe a hard reset somehow?

I accidentally stuck a full card in my home cell for the last week and didn’t get any pictures transmitted this past week. Discovered the issue today when I went back to see what happened. Went back today and switched cards and received two pictures of me changing the card out. There are 4 other cameras on the property but none are showing on the report online. Will cams trying to send to a full home cause them to go dead much quicker and drop off? These are g’s with external d packs and only deployed for 30 days so would normally have plenty of life left. Camera channels were not adjusted

are you using energizer batteries?

online report is not real time, it could take some time to reconnect and show on the report if the home wasnt connected.

Exactly what happened just took a while to connect back up.

John or anybody else, do you have a solution for squirrels(I assume) biting through the wires that run from battery booster packs to the camera units? They've ruined 4 sets of wires and the resulting electrical surge/arc melted the positive end into the plastic housing of the booster. They didn't do this the past few years I've ran them but this year they are on a mission it seems.

Ive had this problem as well. I bought a bunch of the metal wrapped cords from cuddeback. There were some instances with older cams and solar panels, where cudde doesnt offer the metal option. In that case i took duct tape and coated it with cayenne pepper and laid it flat with cord centered in it. Then took another piece of tape on top of cord and cayenne coated tape. It has worked so far this year, theyve been out since March. Ive now started doing the pepper trick with antennas, since ive lost 4 antennas this year to varmints.

Hello,,, I am new to the cell camera game and Habitat talk .. Purchased two K series dual cell cameras a couple months ago...running them on 6D batteries with cuddeback solar power banks.. Everything was working fine until last weekend, as I lost everything coming from one of the cameras....went out to troubleshoot camera and on the display it continually said "ARMED''. it was not taking any photos... pulled batteries, drained residual power and now when I power it up the camera , it immediately says "ERROR 06"..Tried new Rayovac batterys also . I have called customer support but they have not responded back , due to covid issues I assume. Was hoping you could at least tell me what ERROR 06 means , and a possible solution. THANK YOU !! Duck

i ve seen others put a spiral metal cover around the cable and cuddeback sells a wire wrapped cabala s an accessory.

error 6 is flash module error. pull batteires , take face off camera pull flash module out and re install, this should fix it , if not you may need a new module or to send it on. also make sure you are not using energizer batteries.

John, I’ve been using the blue and silver Rayovac alkaline D cells, why do you know about the Rayovac Ultra Pro D cells?

i would stick with what you have been using. i dont have anything concrete to say about the ultras but i dont think you would see a difference in life and i know the blue and silvers are solid.

THANKS. THANKS and more THANKS... i did exactly as you suggested and l am back to taking pics.. Thank YOU John.!!!! It is sure nice of you to answer my question and everybody elses... may the god of trophy bucks reward you !!

Hello all.

My 5 camera J series system had been working flawlessly until recently. 1 camera has seemed to stop sending images but still is sending daily reports to the non cellular receiver.

This camera is in a sensitive area so I'd like to have an idea what the problem may be before barging back there. Any idea what may cause this type of an issue based of the recent report? I'm confused how the Cuddelink level can basically show zero but still somehow send a report.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

very hard our say remotely, could be a damaged antenna, the cl level could be going back and forth from zero to a string enough signal to transmit the report. i would command it to take a pic and see if it comes thru.

This being location 001 I am assuming this is the Home camera in the system, correct? If so the Home camera has no CL level. Since it is not cellular it will be hard to assess the problem.

I have a K camera that i recently fell back to old firmware on due to transmission delay issues. The firmware on website ended up being 7.5. Transmission is working fine now but the K camera is having some issues with flash i believe. Lots of seemingly blank dark pics, but then works during day. Now that 8.2 is out, and um heading down to hunt this week, I'll update back up, anything else I should be prepared to fix/do to help issue?

question for anyone...

Has anyone attached some type of range extender/tall antenna to a cuddelink remote camera? I know some people have bought long cell antennas and ran them up the tree to get a better signal.. Would this help the remote camera signal?
