Cuddelink 2020 GEN 2 version

The same camera did this again - on another sub freezing morning. It only does it when it is sub freezing. I am guessing there is moisture in the camera freezing. Any fix for this? J camera

CS phone lines are open , i would call and set up an ra for return if you are confident there is moisture in the unit. they will warranty it of so.

The fix is to move to a warmer climate.
J/K. As Jon says, if moisture is the culprit send it in.

I would do as John suggested . I guess you could pack in rice like you do with a phone that gets wet, but that wouldn’t fix how it got wet to begin with.

Is there a place that has the recommended settings with the gen2? I remember reading something about picking a number above 18 or something on the second channel number. I reset and upgraded all my cameras to 8.3 but, I had previously had some cameras in priority mode and even with it shut off on the website it still sends images instantly from those cameras. Not sure how to get them to stop doing that.

I have roughly 15 cameras running 8.1.0 for 170-ish days. At my last report last night (around 6PM MST), all cameras checked in. This morning, I logged into camp.cuddeback.com and noticed the current report is only showing 3 of my 15 cameras. I've been on this forum enough to know I need to give it 24 hrs, but wanted to see if anyone has else has experienced a dramatic change in less than 12 hrs? If so, what may have been the culprit?

go by the emailed report before the online report

make sure you do a complete reset under test after updating firmware , you will then need to set all of your settings again. The second number of the channel choice should be 17 or higher.

Yea I did the reset added all the settings back in and have it set to 20 channel for second number. Still getting priority images from those cameras even with the settings off online.

Hi Cheech:
After looking around for the dummy D cells, they were rather expensive. But then I found some dummy AA that would fit in the AA-D adapter (see image) for much less. Getting enough to do 5 cameras for less than $18. With the estimated arrival date, it will then be Mid-October (opening muzzleloader weekend) before I'm back at the farm to install them. Oh, except John said I needed to update the devices to 8.1 which is a daunting task for 48 devices, and I'm not sure that would get done until after muzzleloader. But if I get it all done before someone else reports back, I will for sure let you know.
Happy hunting, Steve.

I purchased them, but have not deployed them yet. Just did not think about it during hunting season and holiday travels. Living in Florida, I'm only at the Kentucky farm every so often, and will try to remember the next time I'm there. But I'd bet a good amount they will work as expected.

I would think they would work just fine on the J cameras 12AA and 6D because firmware allows you to pick internal batteries I'm not to sure if the K dual cell well work, are you planning on trying one of them . Please keep me up to date thank you for getting back to me

I thought I was uploading the newest firmware version onto my j model silver series, (I later realized I uploaded an older firmware than what was already on the camera) and now I’m locked out of my camera and the screen says BAT DEAD and I cannot get any functions to work. I now realized I meant to upload the gen 2 firmware which I thought I was doing but now I understand the process. Does anyone have any experience with my situation . To answer anyone’s question I can not use any functions at all.

I have read take out all internal batteries wait till all light go out because of internal capacitor and use a external 9v power source it should work and go to welcome screen then download the new firmware

So luckily I had purchased the solar panels that put out the 9v I needed to do that. Thank you fir the help! I was getting nervous I’d have to send them out.

I assuming you have a J2 with 4D batteries in it if you have the old solar panel with the AA power pack that will work also and the 3600 solar panel with the battery pack in it will work

Yes the j2 with 4d and I have the 3600 solar. I just got them for Christmas, still figuring them out. I can run the solar with the batteries in correct?

Yes but to fix your j2 with new firmware do this with no internal batteries plug in the 3600 battery side power port to external port on camera if that works load new firmware set camera batterys to internal 4D in commands I think then then turn camera off after light go out install the 4D internal batteries and you should be good to go make sure you use new update firmware

Copy. Got it all updated. Thanks for the help
