Cuddelink 2020 GEN 2 version

I had a camera with that issue. It was a wire that came loose from the control board..green in color if I remember correctly. I fixed it my self but if you don't want that option contact cuddeback.
Thanks for the reply. Its still under warranty so I probably won't mess with that. I was hoping there was something easier I could try and not mess up the warranty.

remove the batteires from the camera, let all power drain out so screen is blank, then plug the external power in.Then power up camera and then put internal batteries in. IF the J is a 12 aa or 6d camera you will need ot run it empty when using a dual power bank , if its a 4 D J you can have batteries in the camera as well.

Update: The G Double Barrel link is now showing the external..as OK. The K/Home is not. It did look to me like the connection in it was corroded, if that's possible. Previously had the regular no-battery solar panel connected to it with the rechargeable batteries in the cam. Seemed to be working..I don't recall if last year it showed the external or not. Have non-rechargeables in the cam with this battery pack connected.

Didn't have anything with me to see if it was corrosion that could be cleaned off. Or should it be replaced? Will get up there in another week.

K doesnt show external with a DPB unless the K is empty, since the K is 9 volts it matches the external and cant recognize the external at the same voltage.

Thank you. It's probably something you've mentioned before. Just way too much to read thru..even tried a search. Maybe there can be a page on most of the questions that have been asked, with the answers.

My cell cam quit sending twice since mid august when I put them out. It was down for a couple days and then started sending again.

It went down again the day after I left to go elk hunting, it never resumed, I walked in to it and it said armed. I shut it off. Took all batteries out, replaced all batteries, including booster pack, reset it, said armed and walked away. It sent 2 batches of pics 5 hrs later, one from 2 weeks prior and one from that day. Then it quit sending.

I walked in again yesterday and pulled cam and have been trying to contact customer service via email and phone, havent been contacted back via either mode. Messages have been left. On a phone message it says covid has hit calling center so remote work from home is the route now. I get it and am patiently waiting to be contacted to send unit in.

All cams are updated to 8.1.

Didnt have a problem last year. Updated to 8.1 and it's been not good.

Venting but if John or someone has a fix I can do I'm all eyes and ears.

Thanks

Willy - we have two networks running and one of the K base cameras is doing the same as you described. Randomnly locks up with "Armed" on the display. Tried different types of batteries, external battery, resetting the camera, reflashing firmware, upgrading to 8.2. Nothing has resolved the issue and its very frustrating to have it happening during prime deer hunting.... looking forward to John's response.

Not john here, but i just had this exact scenario happen on a J cam. Had it sent back to cuddeback, and apparently its a terminal problem, because they sent back an entirely new camera. I had made contact through their online help request submissions. They emailed back within 2 days with a work order. I got the return camera 9 days after sending broke one in.

I have two farms I run the cuddlink system on. All cams and repeaters/home are set up with the 8.1. The system that is set up with the cuddelink cell cam is the one that has the issues previously mentioned. The one that is set up with the home unit being a repeater/home non camera unit has worked flawlessly.

Has anybody had the problems mentioned above by multiple people occur on their daisy chain set up leading to a non camera, repeater/home setup?

I just took the repeater/home unit and put on the cell based daisy chain and am going to replace that unit with a new one I just ordered. Haven't yet heard from Cuddeback via email or phone yet and prime camera time is now.

Damn covid.

have you tried swapping out to a different SD card? they can cause issues. we see it often.

if you have the ability to do so updating to 8.2 will speed your system up dramatically and eliminate the que back up . this isnt a must do but i would do it the next time you can thats convenient.

I swapped that out when I changed batteries. It's a small farm so I'm not going in there anymore until after December unless we kill something we have to go in for. Its getting prime time and stuff is starting move well. Cameras are in thick stuff and stands are on outside.

Do you know if customer service is still open with covid outbreak that they mention in the phone recording? I haven't received an email or phone call from them yet?

Will cams connect between 8 and 8.2? If so how do you set the second set of channels on 8.2. Most of my cams are on 8.1 had two cams that just updated 8.2 and can’t find the card with 8 on it and can’t seem to find it on the net anywhere.

no they will not, when moving to 8.2 the channel is a main change. all cams must be on 8.2 to communicate. the is a key part of the update. when doing this update, make sure the second number is 17 or higher. i believe the new manuall is on the website.

if you need 8.1, pm me your email and ill send it .

I put new batteries in every camera I had today - one K, three J, and one repeater. They had been indicated as low. The new report shows all but 004 is OK as far as battery level, but the battery days did not reset. When you got to each individual device, they all still show battery low. Does it take some time for everything to update? First device is 3 and second device in pic is 5

You have the "drain" the system for the battery days to reset. That would leaving the unit on while taking the batteries out till the screen is blank. Learned that lesson last month.

so i leave it on and take batteries out while it is still powered up and battery days will reset to 0. If I dont do that, everything will work ok - but battery days will just continue to add on? I do have camera 004 that still shows low battery - after replacing batteries. If I pull the batteries out of it while it is still on - will it then show battery OK?
