Cuddelink 2020 GEN 2 version

its not looking like there will be any black friday deals as we will be sold out of most skus at that point. Nothing new coming if we launch anything new There wont be any new items until at least the second half of 2022 if at all. Very hard to get parts right now .There is a new 6d booster coming in december of this year but its really just an inline change to the PW 3624 and will work exactly the same but in a bit smaller foot print.
A couple things I would like to see them incorporate:
-dual lens or a filter with no "clunk"
-password protection to access the menu
-lockable door to camera
-smaller combined footprint of cam and battery pack (sounds like they're on it)

they are working on # 1 and 4, 2 and 3 are likely not going to happen in next gen, dual lens would increase cost and size of camera so its a pick your poison between dual lens or smaller combined footprint.

Another update on the cam that was giving me a SD error code. It happened again, so at this point it's a cam issue not a card issue. That's 3 cards I've tried. It's out of warranty too. I'd probably care more but I'm tagged out. But it still is a thorn in my aside at this point

Any chance it is how you are formatting them? Sounds like it might be a camera issue but it might be worth trying another formatting technique. Also, which FW version are you using? I didn't have any SD card issues until I updated to the latest (though that is probably a coincidence). I have 18 Cuddebacks and have only seen the SD issue on I believe 2 cameras (both happened to be newer J's for what it's worth).

hi i’ve tried going through all these post as a new user to the cuddelink system. And i greatly thank y’all as it’s cut the learning curve for me a lot!

I have just a couple questions. Number one it’s my understanding you basically want the home camera in a central good cellular location. then place the remotes outward from there. When setting up a new camera they are named in order link 1,2,3,4 etc. does it matter the location? in other words can link 1 send to any of the others and any of the others send to the home cell cam?

Also and a bigger question is why my home camera is showing 3020 images but lifetime is just over 1400. The Sd image count on the two remote camera seems in line with what’s been sent. and the lifetime image number of the home cell seems likely in line as I had it on a bait pile just to see how it would work as a new user.

sd cards are new and tested to be good as well as being formatted prior to use so. am I reading it wrong? here is my latest email report and a screen shot of the cell home report off the app

and adding this since this photo just came in. i’ve been a cell cam user since spartan gocam came out with 3g models and ive tried spypoints and muddy and moultrie and tactacams. with tactacams being the best. And currently run a mixture of 15 cell cams and I know all about compressed thumbnails. But this is not making me want to make the switch to cuddelink. I can tell this is a buck and that it’s not a shooter but really that’s all I can tell. Ive tried far, and close ir and neither help. anything I should try. I understand backdrops help too but my in woods on trails photos aren’t much better

The first question is on the report the home images is a total all cameras. On the status it is just the camera only. The picture is in that early morning light between night and day and do look that way. I have never compared the full resolution image to the thumbnail so I really can’t answer that fully. It’s been enough for me.

ok well that’s what I thought but the two remote cameras show 96 and 57. which is about what they sent. I delete everything so I can’t be certain. and the home camera 1400plus. added up that’s not 3000 plus. that’s what throwing me off.

firmware is 8.3

Are you formatting the new SD cards?

i have never seen the sd error code happen on multiple cards in the same camera but there is a first time for everything , i would try clearing your internal memory omni the camera without a card in it. Make sure you arent reading the cards in another device, make sure they are clean when you put them in the cameras and clear them in the camera before you arm them. If this doesnt work it is probably worth sending it in spending on how many run days are on it.

What are the chances they can move the "timelapse" settings to a different sub menu on the online portal/app. Going through multiple cameras at once, I have now bumped the timelapse to 10 seconds during daylight hours. This caused a huge issue across our system. Photo plan is about shot for the month, I'm sure batteries took a massive hit across the daisy chain back to home, and now we are receiving photo out of order via date/timestamp. Not to mention it takes X amount of time to sync back to the cell tower to change this setting, clear sd cards, etc.

To simply move it under another header would very easily prevent this mistake from happening.

something similar to what you are recommending is in the works , im not sure when the change will happen but time lapse is goign to get moved and order limited on camp.

Camera 002 is by far closest camera to home. Why is it shown to have two links to home camera. Shouldn't at least one remote only have one link to home?

yes it should, since you are on 8.1 and using channel 10 you may have interference with another network , when you are able to update to 8.3 make your channel very unique like 13-26, dont use 01-10 or 10-10

If there is another network interfering, they must be trespassing. But if there was, and I am still getting pictures from my cameras, shouldnt I be getting pictures from at least one camera off another network - if that was the case? To check and see if you were having interference from another network - you should be able to turn off the home camera and the remotes would show they still have link contact with another camera, somewhere - correct?

We had a lot of rain yesterday - and some fierce wind today - maybe that is the cause. All the link levels are down on today’s report

the weather could be the cause , i woudl give it a day and see what happens when it clears up , heavy rain restricts RF signal-
regaridng other networks - another network can be over 1-2 miles away and still have an effect and no you wouldn't necessarily be getting other pics etc

Just curious how long the changes take via the Device Settings with the cell setup? On the camp website I have made some changes to the location # and also the names of the cameras yesterday almost 24 hours ago and they are still Pending?
