Cuddeback C2 IR Filter Replacement

Started getting pink daytime pictures on an old Cuddeback C2 camera. Sent the pics to Cuddeback and they say it's a bad IR filter. They estimate $25-100 to fix plus shipping. Anybody have any experience replacing this part?

Pat, did you ever resolve this issue. My buddy has a 6 year old, I think C3. He made mistake of bringing it home for six months vacation. Powered back up, now periods of pink. Passes filter test, older not sure worth repair costs.

Yes I sent it back. They never said what it was but they fixed it for free and sent it right back to me. I think the filter had just come loose. It would flop around if I moved the camera. It works fine now.

Thanks, I'll see if his rattles.

I believe they will run a diagnostic on it for free if you send it to them. Then depending on what it is you can fix it yourself or decide if it's worth it. The quote they originally gave me was before I had sent it in.

I checked it today. The filter hangs, you can tap the cam and it will drop back down out of the way. I'll call them. Thanks, good hunting, got a glimpse of descent buck checking scrapes at 1pm today in NC.

Ya that sounds exactly like what mine was doing. Good luck to you too.

My C2 camera filter was flopping around and not working properly on daytime pictures and I had an E3 black flash that was working but I didn’t like the pictures at night so I took the filter out of it and put it in my C2 now everything‘s working fine on the C2 it appears to look like when these filters were made they possibly were defective there’s a little round disc of metal it might be a magnet I’m not sure at each end of the filter which flops it on and off when the internal magnet goes on and off . there may have been too much plastic on the bottom side of the metal of the filter which doesn’t allow it to get a good hold on the internal magnetic when in goes from day to night
