Built my first water hole

I decided this year that I was gonna try and put in a water hole in a area that I felt would benefit a stand we had near our main food plot. This area already has a natural spring that always has running water but it's out of bow range. I dug a 3-4 ft wide hole and about 2-3 ft deep. I then dug a trench from the running water to the new water hole and I now have a full water hole at all times. This now gives me a 17 yard shot from the stand. I'm hoping this is a killer set-up come early season and the rut.

Looks like you got a winner.

Great use of the natural feature (spring) your land presented you with.

that looks pretty good! I did something similar in terms of digging a small ditch from a water source into a water hole....but my water source is a vernal spring seep and i ended up having to put a liner in the hole in order to keep water year round.

That looks pretty sweet. All the water on our place is shallow and cloudy. I bet they'll like drinking that cooler clear water.
