Bought a new farm

momatt

5 year old buck +
Moving to the ozarks. This is stone county not far from where grant woods is as a crow flies. It’s 434 acres with about 75 of it in pasture. Woods are mostly white and red oaks. Buildings up north are gone. Been overgrazed and the cattle let into the woods. That’s table rock lake it touches. Thinking about a summer plots of sun hemp. There isn’t much cover in the woods. Would like to get into a winter rye and forage soybean scenario. Ragweed is really bad need some weed suppression would like to avoid drenching the place in glyphosate if I can avoid it. 468C6A84-3230-488F-9082-577D5DA35DF7.jpeg

Beautiful.

Gorgeous piece of real estate!

Nice!

Looks nice, congrats!

That is awesome

How exciting. All of that varied terrain is sure makes the property interesting. And lakefront besides. It looks very special. Good luck with it.

I am pretty excited. We are going to build a house on it. It will be so great to be able to have all my equipment with me and to check my plots any time I want. For me it’s an inexhaustible supply of lumber firewood and I can run a few livestock. My wife and I have always been pretty conservative and we decided on our 25th anniversary let’s go for it. What sealed it for me was the thought “what fun is it to have a pony when all your kids are grown up”. As excited as I am it was hard to sell my other 40acre place that was my dream place for the last 10 years. So many great memories. Whitetail properties sold it in a week for more than I thought it was worth.

Cool looking place congrats

My wife and I live on our deer hunting property. It is so great to see the deer almost everyday and walk outside and be trimming apple trees or killing buckthorn or whatever other important things there are to be done or even just walking the dog on our land whenever the mood strikes us. It just never gets old. Am looking forward to how you set it all up.

Beautiful looking place. Congrats. Any indian campsites under those cliffs?

wow man! That's an incredibly nice piece. congrats to you both for sacrificing until you could make it happen.

WOW is an understatement! That is a great piece of property!

congrats!

Cant wait to see this property unfold!!!!!

Awesome!

Living the dream! You'll never having a boring day the rest of your life managing that much acreage.

Time for a nice big tractor! :emoji_sunglasses:

Oh my...so nice. Congrats. I'm about 4 to 6 years from retirement and keep telling my wife that I'm buying a farm in the Ozarks when I'm done.

Congratulations! I love Table Rock and that place looks beautiful with all kinds of potential. I grew up hunting the timber of the northern Ozarks along the Osage river and still have such respect for the challenge of hunting big timber whitetails in the southern half of the state. It’s wild how different the topography/land type and deer populations are across the state.
