Bone Dry

About 1/2" McLeod county (the ground inhaled it) corn looks like it grew 4" this afternoon

about 8/10" up north at the hunting land in Cass county.

Keep it coming.
I'm in cass as well. That's great to hear

He's in MN. However, Cass Co IL maps show decent rainfall over the past 72 hours, depending on where you are. More in the west and less as you go east.

I got .3" overnight and won't turn it down but need a lot more.

Finally 1/2" of rain! Wow, brutal last couple weeks.. All those good rains keep going north to Bill :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

We got about 1/2" here. It sounded like more. Rained pretty hard during the night. My brown grass greened up slightly.

Well we finally got 1.0" this past week which is still not enough. Then last night another 1.0" and in the last 3 hours we just got another 2.5" of rain. The downpour was pretty amazing in both sight & sound like a wall of water cascading down.

We are no longer dry. Upwards of 4" the past couple days. Ground took the 2+ yest no prob. Havent ventured out to see how it looks today yet. I won't have to water the new trees anymore this yr.

I just got in. Have been scouting my crops and pulling some weeds since about 6am. Gonna spray my beans again this week. They look decent. My corn is showing significant potassium deficiency. It ranges from waist high on the poorer ground to shoulder high down in the heavy ground and the draws. Our corn is really in deep shit if we dont start to get some meaningful rain immediately. The top 8-12" is bone dry and tile lines have stopped running. Most lawns in my area are crispy brown already. Forecast is calling for a few 50% chances to get a tenth or two. A poor crop for MN appears increasingly likely at this point. The average corn plant's demand for water and nitrogen is about to take a sharp uptick so I expect things to go backwards very fast. I can almost get my whole hand into some of the cracks in the ground.

Snapped these photos this morning. I have some of the best looking beans in MN again. Cant say the same for my corn. Looks awfully poor by my standards.

yep, after the 3 week mini drought a lot of the new trees were starting to look stressed. this rain is very welcomed especially the volume of water. Would like to seen it stretched out over last 2 weeks but will take what we can get.

We now have a plethora of rain 2.5” in last 48 hours and more on the way!

So far since about 1 am this morning we have received ~ 4.5" of rain and it is still raining. :emoji_astonished:

Getting a million dollar rain on my crops. My whole crop looks like it caught at least 1.5". 4 miles east and west of me only got about 6/10. Able to hook a few small downpours in a narrow band. Wish I would have sprayed the beans on Friday, but I sure as hell will take this. Greatly appreciated. West of Hutchinson all the way into South Dakota missed everything this time. I was pretty bummed out kicking the dirt this morning thinking we would continue to miss the rains.

I'll say those beans look good. Dont spray them, just go out and pull the three weeds in the whole field :)

Checked the guage this morning and we have had 5" of rain in last 30 hours. Pretty amazing when our monthly average for July is 4.3".

Nothing significant for me. We are getting some rain now, but it won’t add up to much. A couple tenths.

Very weird long narrow rain storm lines ... you either get rain or not. Last 2 weeks we missed a lot of rain by only a couple of miles.

I'm starting to think about going to buy a couple powerball tickets. Neighbor called earlier and said a couple clouds popped up and dumped about an inch of rain on my trees up north. Luckier than hell for the 2nd time this weekend in the rain department. It only took a few miles to miss this one completely.

8.9" in less than a week. Should be 9" by the time I finish this post. Uncle!

Mortenson ..... 0ver 12" (and most in 2 days) where I'm at .... we are likely in the same state. Between Chicago and Springfield, it's been murder in some spots!

Decent rain here today, guessing .4 to half inch so far....

We got good rain last week. Went out Sat moved a few stands and I forgot to go look at the field. So I might or might not have gotten germination
