2022 Scion Exchange

No worries. Prettier in terms of Autumn colors or growth habit? I assume BB being American will get much larger. It's certainly loaded in the picture. Perhaps it will correct yhe growth habit with age.
Prettier in terms of growth habit. In terms of Autumn color, neither of them has been much to look at -- I think it's a matter of climate, they wilt before they have a chance to put on any color for me. But the first couple years, this tree was very pretty *after* it lost all the foliage, with fruits on the branches like Christmas balls.

Do you happen to have any Rubinette apple? (I don't have any apples to share but would be happy to purchase).
I have a scion of that on order for this spring. Sorry I can’t help you out on that one!

May I ask where you ordered it from?

I bought some scions from Steury Orchards (through ciderauction.com) last year and was quite pleased. The guy called my cellphone and it felt like he was standing next to the tree as he described what he could cut off and send to me, and was wondering if those sticks would work for me. He ended up sending me fewer than the ten stick minimum I ordered and refunded the difference. I was a happy customer.

Looking for scion from Roberts crab

Have many varieties I could trade...or I would buy scion.

I have over 100 varieties of apples and pears. If you can’t find something and need it, send me a private message.

I am hoping to find Potomac, Shenandoah, Susquahanna, or Wabash, pawpaw scions. Disease resistant apple varieties and several of the Claypool and Lehman persimmons are available to trade.

I have a few sticks of Yates, if anyone is still looking for it.

Cummins sells scion. Many are sold out but they still have a bunch of good ones.

Wow, I just spent 2 hours looking through their website. What a resource!
I'm going to go back through and make a wishlist.

I ordered 4 scion from Cummings they arrived today they are probably 16”-18” long their price for scion is steep at $12 but they are quality scion for sure.

I'm looking for Trailman and Kerr scionwood.

Below is what I have available to trade at the moment. "South Kent" is a very disease resistant russet that I found with fruit that hangs through December. It stuck out like a sore thumb during a year when pretty much every unsprayed tree was defoliated by scab and CAR. I'd be curious to see how it does elsewhere.

Akero
Baldwin
Black Gilliflower
Calville Blanc
Chenango Strawberry
Esopsus Spitzenberg
Frostbite
Golden Russet
Goldrush
Gray Pearmain
Honeycrisp
Hubbardston
Hurlbut
Liberty
Newtown Pippin
Pomme Gris
Porter
Prima
RI Greening
Sinta
South Kent
Sweet 16
Tompkins King
Wagener
William’s Pride
Wolf River

I have Trailman, I would be happy to trade for South Kent. I have a few russets already and it sounds like a winner. Shoot me a pm with a shipping address and I will get it sent.

For the late hanging apple enthusiasts, on a drive across about half of NYS today I spotted a tree with a decent number of hangers for this time of year and cut some scions (which were relatively abundant thanks to it getting whacked with a flail mower). I know nothing about the tree aside from the fact that it still has apples on it. Only one I saw holding apples out of probably tens of thousands of wild trees I probably glanced at on the drive.

I'm looking for any apple/pear for deer draw power. I don't have anything to trade but good to purchase. I have some pear rootstock from Cummins and apple from blue hill to give grafting a try.
I’m in Tennessee and have about a dozen varieties of pears and three of apples. I find apples are not easy to grow/maintain. If I were you I would focus on pears and persimmons first as both are low maintenance quick producers. My late dropping (Nov-Jan) pears are too young for scions this year but Kieffer, Ayers, Orient, Bartlett, Dixie Delight, Ms Lanenne, Pineapple, Benton, and Ledbetter are mature. Like my pears, my late drop American persimmons are not mature enough for scions but I do have Deer Magnet, Morris Burton and Big DV that are mature. I also have six varieties of oriental/Japanese persimmons. If I can help you with a few scions, let me know.

I'm looking for some persimmon scions. I will have small amounts of the following available:

Pears:
Gate
Becton
Gallaway
Moonglow
Gilmer Christmas
Ms. Laneene
Kiefer

Plumblee
Dr. Deer
Korean Giant
Orient
Arthur Ledbetter

Apples:
Liberty
Enterprise
Old Fashioned Winesap
Arkansas Black
Yates
Keener Seedling
I have three early drop American persimmons (Deer Magnet, Morris Burton and Big DV) and four Japanese varieties (Fuyu, Jiro, Gionbo and Great Wall) if that will help you. I recently cut scions that are now in my shed fridge. I would be interested in Galloway, Dr. Deer, Plumblee, and Korean Giant.
