All the beans I plant are 1-3 years old before they see dirt. Never had a problem with germination as long as they are stored properly. Never tried that brand so I have no opinion on them, other than that's a decent price for bean seed.

Ha ha ha, I am far from rich, actually live on a very modest income, but this Robin Hood theory of tax the rich and give to the poor absolutely cracks me up!! Most rich people earn their money just as us hard working modest(middle) income people do. Why the heck should they be taxed any harder?

These with the box are the greatest work UTV in the world. I have owned 2 of them since they came out and I couldn't live without one. They are great for hunting and ice fishing too. As far as tipping over easily, NOT A CHANCE!! Never even been close to tipping it over in 20 years of use...

We have had the 570 Ranger for going on our 3rd year at the farm and I love it. We have an older 6x6 ranger that I think is much too big/wide. This 570 is much more agile and easier to maneuver in the woods. I highly recommend it!

I was going to set up the planter on 15" rows with a plant every 3-4 inches in a row. Is that too heavy for heads? It's roughly twice as thick as I plant corn.

Nope, going straight Milo, extra thick for cover,and yes organic matter is another important factor to build that sandy soil.

Do you guys have issue with tree rats(squirrel and coons) getting at the Milo during summer and early fall? This is one of my biggest problems with corn, tree rats eat and destroy so much of it before fall even gets here. Deer don't seem to touch it much at all until mid October, but the tree...

gly won't touch my pigweed, it laughs at the stuff. On the other hand the 2-4D last year knocked it down like a wrecking ball, great burn down.

That's part of the reason I want to plant Milo. Then I can spray with 2-4D and kill pigweed. Plus is is good for shading weeds out quickly.

For you guys planting Milo, do you plant the same time as you plant corn or are you going by recommendation and waiting until the soil warms to 65 degrees? I don't get to the farm much after planting corn and beans until I hit the first round of spraying. I suppose I could plant it then. I am...

I use a hand held 8" power auger every year for my bare root seedling and it works great. The tractor auger should work very well. I agree that the back hoe is overkill.
