    Clover Rotation?

Any issues planting clover in the same plot year-after-year? I know some plants should be on a rotation, but wasn't sure if clover needed to be one of those? VV

    Walnut?

I am leaning toward having a select cut done and will include them in the cut trees since they hold little-to-no whitetail value. Thanks for all the replies. VV

    Walnut?

Pretty sure it isn't a shell bark because there are a few of those in the same area and they look much different. Thanks for all the info. Being that deer do not seem to pay them much attention, I have to decide if they are worth keeping around, or cut down and plant something else.

    Walnut?

If you can zoom in, there are hulls on the right of the tree. I should be over there tonight, I will take some more pics and look around.

    Crimson Clover tips

I really like to use Crimson in the spring/early summer here in Ohio. I use it for the nitrogen, then kill it and broadcast brassicas into it in the fall. I frost seeded it last year, and it didn't produce. I did some research and, unlike other clovers, it shouldn't be planted until there is no...

    Planting Black Walnut Seedlings

With the recent Black Walnut post and the value of the timber I thought I would buy 25 seedlings and get them in the ground for the kids/grandkids. I plan to tube them. Anything else I should be doing to insure their survival and growth? Thanks. VV

    Black Cherry: Need caging?

Thanks for the info. I wasn't dying to plant them, but the local Soil and Water office is selling them and thought I may pick some up if I didn't need to protect them. VV

    Black Cherry: Need caging?

I am considering buying some black cherry seedlings and am curious if I should be concerned about browsing? I really have no interest in trying to cage all the trees because of the cost. If I can plant them with minimal care, then it may be a tree I go with. Thanks. VV

    Drilling Corn Into Clover

The clover is on its 5th year, so it has run its course. The plan is to kill the clover that is left and then drill into it. The reason I went to clover in the first place was I was having some issues with pig weed, so I would rather not break the ground unless I have to. VV Sent from my...

    Drilling Corn Into Clover

I have a clover plot that is on its last leg. I can rent a drill from the county and am considering drilling corn directly into what clover is left this spring. I will spray it with gly to kill weeds, then drill. Any suggestions or pros/cons on this plan? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using...
