Went for it and bought the lot

My new farm in the ozarks is big and hilly. My old Deere 4010 is 2wd and has a high center of gravity and no roll bar. Decided to take advantage of the low financing rate and go for it. I’m lucky the big dealership in Springdale still had some of this hard to find stuff. They gave me the drill with the native seed box for the two box price since they couldn’t get another and I bought so much other stuff.

Super nice set up,Christmas came early

Nice ... time to get dirty!

Get a chance to try out the new toys?

Congratulations! Hours of fun setting there.

Wow... if heaven was on a delivery truck.........
I second that! Nice day's work right there momatt.

Which tractor did you get?

Man how long you gonna be paying on that equipment

Would love to know more details about the tractor and a cursory review when you've had a chance to run that thing for a while. After 10 years of open cab tractors, a cab tractor is definitely on my list for 2022 and most likely will go back with Orange. My 2007 Kubota M4800 has been a trojan of a tractor. Planning on something in the 75 plus HP range on the next one.

Yeah, I’m not jealous in the least bit……

Wow that’s a sweet semi! You can move a lot of equipment around now!

Thanks guys. I’ve been off line for a while. To answer a few questions I ended up financing the entire amount for 84 months. The tractor is the m5 091. It’s supposed to be 92 horse. I got the tires filled and one set of cast weights. So far I like it, I have 12 hours on it. The cab is nice for sure I ran the ac! Loved being out of the dust. My driveway is about a mile and a half. The box blade straightened up my road really nice. Mowed a little with the 12 foot bat wing. I have a root grapple on it that has sure made logging easier at least getting logs on the mill. Picks up a 20 inch 25 foot long black walnut log no problem. Really looking forward to soil building my pastures with that drill I have about 75 acres of ozark ridge tops that are getting the treatment (not all at once).

Diesel therapy!

How do you like mowing with the bat wing? I just picked up a JD 5085 with cab, FEL n low hours from a neighbor that got out of the hay business. My next purchase is a bat wing and I'm thinking the 12ft is going to be the right size for me. 12 acres of field here at the house and bout 12 to 15 acres at the farm plus interior roads. The old 6 ft mower ain't getting it done. Bat wing definitely in my future and thinking the 12 foot is the way to go.

I really like the bat wing. Truth is this is the first new one I've had my other two cutters were probably 30 or 40 years old when I got them so this seems a smooth as a sewing machine. I love the narrow profile with the wings up is probably only 4 or 5 foot wide shoots right through gates. A 12 foot mower knocks down a pretty good swath; however, a 15 footer might be nice if you are just mowing grass and light brush. I doubt you would run out of hp even in heavy brush with your tractor and a 15 footer. My dealer didn't have a 15 footer in stock, it was several thousand more than a 12 footer. I think I will be happy with a 12. I've mowed about 8 hours so far and got done around 15 acres. My pasture is pretty rough and has some slopes so I go slow. I have about 70 or 80 acres of grass and I think one pass a year is all I'll do on 60 acres. The other stuff closer to my house I'll probably mow more. I have two or three patches of those nasty Himalayan black berries. If was sure fun chopping those down to nothing. I am going to try and smother those areas with summer with cover crops, I hear they are hard to get rid of.

I got the 25 series lightest duty model. I think its fine for my needs and there is a video on YouTube of a guy mowing 80 acres in nixa Mo of real nasty brush he used same mower.

I'm up to about 20 hours so far. I have no complaints about it so far. This is my first tractor with DEF which really it just takes care of itself. I really like the three point arms that have the extension, makes heavy stuff you can't muscle on much easier to hitch. Cab is comfortable with a good view. It is quiet inside, heater and ac work very well. I like the shuttle shift. I have to train myself not to use the clutch. I have 12 gears and I am glad 8 would be a little sparse. I have 18.4 by 30 rears filled with liquid and one cast weight and I have the tires out to the next to last widest setting, you sit up high so it 'feels" tippy, but I have already mowed quite a few of my worst slopes. I am going to put a angle gauge in it, the engineer in me wants to calibrate my butt clench with a measurement, lol. Any particular questions?

Which drill did you end up with?

I have the 3p606nt with all three boxes. Can't wait to try that out.
