New ATV sprayer suggestions

DrewMc

A good 3 year old buck
Looking for a 25 Gallon ATV sprayer with a boom. This would be a rear rack one or I do have the option of going 3-pt, but don't really need the bigger size. Recommendations on a brand? Looking at North Star, Fimco, Green Leaf. Leaning towards the North Star based on reviews and price.

I've a couple different fimco ones. They suit my needs well. The pumps are about the only thing to fail, and they do from time to time.

Fimco boom uses commercial nozzles and I have done insane amount of acres with setup. 25 gallon refill is what slows me down but would not want anymore weight on a ATV.

Go to Northern Tool
Website and it’s item #282785. They work great for me and used em for years.

I have the 60gal pull type with the boom kit and boomless kit. Works great for most applications.

Man you guys are lucky with fimco. On my second 25 gallon in three years. Constantly have problems. I cringe when I know i have a weekend if spraying coming up cause there is always an issue. Tank cranked in first one, ball valve in both sticks. So when I want to use just the hand nozzle the boom runs too. Super waste of money spewing chemical everywhere. Also if I need to turn the boom off I have to shut the pump off and not just the valve. I can physically turn it but it’s messy cause I have to take the manifold apart and only works for one or two times. Looking for an alternative to fimco

Howabout: try the Northstar sprayers

This is the one I have my eye on. We currently have a County Line from Tractor Supply. Biggest POS ever. Granted we should have never bought a trailer sprayer to begin with. They aren't built for field use.

I’m really happy with my North Star. Also purchased based on reviews, most other brands in that price range have horrible reviews.

This issue is a) some of my plots are almost too small to be running my tractor through there with a sprayer and b) I use my gun to spray invasives so I need to be able to use my atv to get to tight places and walk a bit with the hose.

What size (CC) is your wheeler bud? I bought a Honda 350 hoping it is going to be enough to work with.

I’m in the mountains, the extra power is borderline critical on my slopes.

Not a boom sprayer, but I got a Moultrie 25 gallon boom less several years ago (4-5) and have not had a single issue with it other than when I dropped it and broke the pressure gauge that I repaired. I have used it on a hitch haul behind my truck and on our ATV with no issues. Think I got it on clearance for $120 shipped and have been extremely happy with it.

Similar experience as well. If I remember, the pump was not replaceable on my Fimco. Have the Northstar now and it has worked well for me. Can easily replace pump if needed.

Very impressive but looks like a lot of aftermarket modification on that plumbing!
There boom is first class. Have had to do very little modifications on it. Had to weld a crack in it after many years of heavy use. There pumps are only ok and last replacement went with higher flow pump. Can use upper right valve to fill tank from nurse tank in about 5 minutes. Left valve goes to boom and quick disconnect is for spray wand.
