Cuddelink 2020 GEN 2 version

WOuld you recommend trying to upgrade back to 8.2? I'm not sure why even though I unselected priority on those cameras it never took affect it kept sending pics right away and everything slowed. Is there any gotcha settings I maybe over looking?
Besides Batch on cell, channel above 17 on second number, and selecting the correct batteries

5 seconds is the shortest camera delay. If security is your most important objective i would dedicate a stand alone cell to that location. Cuddelink was not designed as primary security system, its a game scouting tool but can be also used as a security system. There are definitely better options for security if that is the priority. As a game scouting tool that is affordable Cuddelink cant be touched.

if you feel you need to prioritize certain cameras, dont set more than 2 and preferably only one as priority. other than Batch, channel , boosters on all cameras and rayovac batteires thats it. any changes done online , give them 24 hours and only make a couple changes at a time dont do sweeping changes all at once.

when updating, do all of them , do a "reset" in tests and set the channel and location. deploy the home first and one remote at a time.

So if I keep them on 8.1 I can still use the K as a remote? Only reason I bought the bundles was to be able to use the K as a remote eventually I have a G cell home.

yes, but you are better off on 8.2 , if you dont plan on using the K's as cell units in the future , pm me your contact info and ill have someone contact you with another option.

I did click the gen two tab the FW version even says 8_0_2

if you arent seeing default 01-01 under link menu/link channel the firmware load didnt take

Ok... well it didn’t take on all 7 cams, any ideas? I did resets on them and tried it all again still say 8.1 and still only see the one number under channel. I also downloaded the 8.2 on different sD and no change. Keep in mind I was upgrading from 8.0 now they all say 8.1.

when you update firmware it will show the version in commands, it will also show WELCOME on the screen when its finished. The color night images were optimized on 8.0 i believe, you can adjust your flash led level to change it . do you have the card with the firmware locked? 8.2 will not communicate with any other earlier firmware.i think you are loading 8.1 and not 8.2

I think You are correct as it does in fact show 8.1 in the FW Version. When I click the GEN 2 link on cuddeback website and down 8.2 and on the sD card it shows it as 8.2 sooo I guess I don’t know what to do next if the link is incorrect ??? The sd card is not locked. I tagged out this afternoon so it’s less important now however there is still delays on my pics. As I said the G CAMERA was running on 8.0 since updating it to 8.1 the night time
Photos have a green tint.

remove all previous firmware versions on your computer and clear the card, your computer could be renaming the file . Send me a pm with your email and ill email you the file , the link is correct.

i had a question via PM on sensing so i thought i would share my response on the page to help others, this seems very common question this time of year. This is my procedure for setting cams to get the max amount of images with few to zero blank images etc.
1. set camera waist high at the highest, oftentimes high thigh area. Make sure its level. I use a post mount in most cases.
2. my target area is inside 30 FEET(10 yards) when using standard fresnel lens. I shoot for 15-20ft in most cases. Beyond 30 feet sensing is not guaranteed but will often sense further depending on conditions , if you want sensing beyond 30 feet change out the fresnel lens to the 9004. IF you do so, know that images beyond 30 feet are not high quality and the deer will be small. You will also get more false or blank images with the 9004 lens which uses up data so there is a trade off.
3. put camera in test mode and walk in front of it at a 90 degree angle. The red LED will light up when you trigger the sensor. this tells you a deer should trigger the camera in that spot.
4. Put a cleared sd card in the camera , arm it and walk in front of the camera at 90 degrees several times making sure you wait for the proper delay time to expire. Pull the card and confirm the images are on it.
5. IF at this point the camera isnt sensing and recording images you would need to send it in for service but know that its extremely rare. Often times when people think its not sensing they have it set up wrong or the deer they "see" in front of it arent really in front of the detection area or are to far to trigger it.
6. Fresnel lens should be replaced every couple years if they are in direct sun as UV degrades them over time. they are very inexpensive and easy to replace.

8.3 firmware is on gen 2 tab on the website, this update is designed to randomize the batch 1 hour setting on the cell unit to alleviate heavy traffic on the servers at the top fo the hour, You can update the cell unit only if you are on 8.2 . If you cameras are on 8.1 or earlier then all cameras and the home would need ot be updated if you choose ot go to 8.3 now. if you dont run an hourly batch on your cell and run a batch # instead you wont see any difference with this update. if you dont want to update now it can wait.

anyone i have a j-3 at my gate with black flash. I'm getting blank pictures and this morning, in the dark with headlights, it didn't pick me up on my side by side which it has never done before. It's been out about a month and seem to catch everything day or night but the last week blank or random pics and like i stated this morning didn't even pick my up.
any ideas? Can you have is set too low? the tree it's on is lower than the road but i tried to set it even/slightly above the road . On the tree its a little lower than waist high.
