This tree got nipped down to the dirt last fall by a cow.

The ash I coppice come back very well from the roots. Deer absolutely love the stump sprouts. I'd say it is an excellent wildlife tree if you can keep it low and bushy.

I have a field behind my house with a bunch of volunteer ash mixed in, they hit them pretty hard, every one is browsed but they can put compete eventually. I plan to coppice a certain percent each year to keep them bushy
