Chokecherry for lawn tree?

I stopped at my buddies farm today. He has a hackberry tree right out in front of the shop. That tree must have easily produced over 100,000-200,000 little berries last year. The ground was completely covered with the little berries and there was dozens of robins enjoying the buffet still hanging on the trees. Those birds were absolutely going to town on that tree. Looks like a fantastic wildlife tree. Might have to get some next year and plant them for the grouse.

Hackberry is very underrated as a tree !

They claim hackberry is good to zone 3. Have never seen in northern WI, only hear about in southern part of state. My land is 4b and planted a few many years ago. They died fairly quickly while the oaks and crabapples planted same time did ok.

Again anecdotal, but I don't put much confidence in their zone listings for that one. Just never see in zone 4 and lower around here for whatever reason
