I do have an orchard within 5 minutes that grows them. So good. I just want one for my yard. Long shot but I’m going to ask the orchard owner for some scions. Anyone ever had luck getting scion from an actual commercial orchard?

I live 15 minutes from adams county PA orchard country and I always enjoy driving through the back roads there looking at all the apples

I stuck with the old reliable Kerr, dolgo, chestnut, liberty. I wanted a candy crab but none available.

They don’t typically drop first thing in the morning. It’s usually mid day I think

Looked up marssonina leaf blotch. I think that’s it. Not a ton of research out there on it.

No fruit on it this year and yes I had some yellow leaves

See pictures, is this apple scab that is affecting this chestnut crabapple? 2 years in a row of early defoliation in late summer. There’s also a very minor amount of this on adjacent trees which are predominantly scab resistant. I’m going to hit it with captan early on next year.
