    They continue to impress me

Though so. I know that guy. He had about a 1200 acres lease next to me when I first bought. Archery only and a fine for anything under 140”. (I think it was 140). That land has since sold and the new owners are as bat shit crazy as me. Old 8’s and 9’s are fair game. Young 10’s and up are no no’s.

    Switchgrass is weedy...

I had a 10 acre field that I considered a complete failure due to weeds after the second summer. The following spring I hit it early in April with gly. Switch took off that summer. 2-4,D won't hurt now but it won't clean up the other grasses.

    They continue to impress me

I just looked up the township range for my place. Nothing is the same as 1930. The roads are even different and many property lines look different. Many many smaller lots then today. The old timers around me say there was a homestead on nearly every 40. The map did show the school house that...

    They continue to impress me

And honestly we’re part of the problem. Managing for bigger better deer doesn’t come with “sure anyone can hunt my place” like the old days. Don’t know what the answer is other then go back to the old days of shoot any buck and go home. And if we did that most of us would stop pouring blood, $...

    Rain

Supposed to be finishing up planting at the farm and heading home in 2 days. I canceled flights. Good thing. I’d be sitting there looking at mud. My fear is once I can plant the rain will stop. Been there done that. Don’t freak out over it. These things happen and we still hunt and have fun.

Encouraging Article on CWD in Missouri

Hoyt Just for giggles I reread that article and replaced deer with “Bats from SE Asia” and CWD with “coronavirus” Reading it that way it sure looked like it was written by Fucci. 😆

    Gly spray didn't work?

It may just be too cold for it to work "fast". Cold seems to delay things. I'm having the same thing with broadleaf weeds and 24D in my yard right now. Slow death for the weeds.

Anyone had miscanthus long enough to see it die off?

I'm over 13 years on some plants and they keep going strong. An evergreen backup is probably good idea. I'm just hoping that the number 20 years has more to do with actual yield than life span. Most of the research is on MG as a biofuel and like any other crop yield is what drives usefulness...

Encouraging Article on CWD in Missouri

“The QDMA acknowledges that total herd eradication may appear to be the most effective method to contain and control CWD. “ (I could have stopped there for click bait) But I won’t, that’s click bait, they did go on to say. At this time, however, the QDMA considers total herd eradication...

And no disrespect intended towards @356 but if Lindsay penned the article you can bet it was to control the message.
