    Growing Chestnuts & Persimmons

Sink a tube(or tin can) into the dirt a few inches. Weed mat and possibly cage the tree.

That's why direct seeding can work better than potted.

Be careful with potted trees. They can get root bound pretty quickly. Walmart is notorious for not watering the trees they sell AND letting the roots cook in the hot sun.

    Value of an LLC????

It probably depends on a number of factors. Do you have $10,000 or $10,000,000 in income/profit? It's probably going to cost you something to form the LLC and deal with it's separate taxes/structure. Are you going to save enough in taxes to justify the additional expenses? Only you really know...

You can heat treat the seed nuts to avoid this as well. Warm water bath of 120 for 10 minutes. ( I think, from memory)

    Value of an LLC????

I agree. Having dealt with my late uncle's estate, I see how estate planning and taxes matters. Some of this varies state to state, so that's why I'm suggesting asking someone local, and bringing the financial data.

    Growing Chestnuts & Persimmons

How wet is the soil? What's the pH? Amend the soil? Do anything to help with weed competition? Back at my desk, to add more info. Chestnuts prefer a lower pH and drier sites. They do not like wet roots. Persimmons like a more neutral pH. I had some die in sites I planted that were too wet...

    Permanent herd building insanity?

We took two resident "boss" does last year after MANY years of not shooting any does. They hogged all the good habitat and ran the bucks off. They were fairly tame as well. One would even walk up to the Ranger and look in the bed. We are seeing more bucks cruising this year that many of the past...

Ravin is selling the Ravin specific model for $999 now. There may be ways for folks to get discounts. I think they offer a Pro and veterans/military discount. You'd have to check if it would stack.

I usually confirm my sight in at home, throw it in the case and take it to camp. Sometimes I'll keep in the case and toss it in the bed of the Ranger too. Interesting that the "Ravin" model has clearance issues with the crank. Have a link to the part you bought? Which crossbow model do you have?

Also, does anyone know if either will fit in the Ravin hardcase with the scope mounted? Seems like they both fit, depending on which case/scope/crossbow you have. https://www.crossbownation.com/threads/hard-case-for-ravin-with-oraclex.157189/?post_id=2009125&nested_view=1#post-2009125...

My thoughts are the same. The warranty is the other factor. Burris is lifetime vs 1 year for the Garmin. I'm curious if there will be any black Friday sales. Conversely, will tariffs raise or keep prices where they are?

Good stuff. I'm considering one of these. EuroOptic has them for $699 currently Does anyone have the Garmin Xero X1i for comparison? They have a Ravin model that has ballistic curves for all models. I have an R10. The only drawback is it's about 2X the price.
