    Enclosed ladder stand?

++ Build a full treestand. Most of the kits you buy that attach to ladder stands aren't made for the long haul. Roofs will leak and materials will start to tear pretty quickly. Direct sunlight also degrades them. Roofs don't shed water/ice as well as they should.

    Seed Sources

Agreed. With the black friday special, their clover is down to a little over $6/lb. That's on par or cheaper than just about everywhere for white clover. I've got some Durana that's been going for a long time. 7ish years, I'd guess. The more premium stuff can be worth a little more money.

    Seed Sources

Cereal grains locally and smaller quantity stuff usually comes from Green Cover. I did just order some clover from Whitetail Institute. 16 lbs was $99 shipped before taxes. That's not terrible and plenty for my first seeding.

New Guy - Bush Honeysuckle Project

If immediate removal of top growth is desired, the preferred approach is to cut the stems close to the soil line and treat the stump. Oil-based (1:4 solution) preparations of triclopyr ester can be applied anytime after cutting, while water-based (1:1 solution) treatments using glyphosate should...

    Black Friday deals thread.

The Garmin came down to $999. There was an extra 20% off at Veterans Day through Ravin's website. I have one platform I picked up in the fall, but I'm always a sucker for the right price. Whitetail Institutes price for their Imperial Clover wasn't terrible. There's a deal on the 4lb bags...

Whitetail Institute has 20% off and free shipping. Not sure how good of a deal that is.

    Crabapple timeline

Dad planted the edges of the fields around the house years ago with fruit trees and sawtooths. The last year or two they have all be significantly producing and it's really been keeping deer checking them daily. It's about time to put up an archery stand so we can hunt them.

    Crabapple timeline

From a truck?!?! Too easy! A few years ago dad and I started a 10 tree planting in the woods. Lugging lime, dirt, trees, fertilizer, cages, weedmats, tools etc. was a chore! It was only 50-100 yards from the Ranger, but it was WORK. The follow year my dad's cousin opened a little more area and...

FYI: PA Woodland Resilience Enhancement Network

Do you know how far down the list you were for your county? I got an application acknowledgement email and then a wait list email too. The Lycoming County Forester didn't seem too worried since we were in the first 8 applicants for the county. He alluded to they're still figuring things out...

    Cuddelink L series Q & A

The default sensitivity on the Cuddelink cameras is lower than what you might expect. A simple change to the setting gets them much closer to other cameras.

    Cuddelink L series Q & A

I saw it. It would be nice if they explained what's part of the release. I still have a G series home. Hopefully the automatic firmware update is part of that release.

    Electric bike

I had the original electric Polaris Ranger. It was good for getting places quietly. I sold it two years ago and miss it for that purpose. I've been considering an e bike but I don't trust it on rocky trails in the dark. Winke has some sort of 4 wheels electric cart he rides around in. It's...
