So changed a fresnel lens on one of them— still does detect motion. Will work as a repeater but not as a remote camera… oh well.

yeah wrong choice of words....they are set properly...........they are all set to remote. its really a great system when they are all working.

On a couple there was some detection but only when close to cam ...They are pretty white.. I have some on order and will give it a go..... I ordered more cams too in case the Fresnel lens doesn't do it. worst case I have more camera coverage. :)

Great info and have made a temp hack fix based on the above----I put a penny on the bottom of the negative battery just inside the battery door. booted up. I'll get some rayovac. That battery size issue is surprising.

I indeed do have energizers in both new cams. the one never powered up at all the other booted up and seems to be fine. So energizers present some sort of issue? it is actually listed as an recommended brand. what exactly is the energizer issue? are they going to be ok in the camera that...

So got my cell home camera updated and can now change settings remotely with fw 8.3. bought 2 more J model link models to start adding to hunting land network. One is apparently dead on arrival as it wont boot up....... the other i have updated and registered for warranty purposes. It is not...

Now paying more attention to the website, I see my error. There are two links on the website, one says update firmware, the other get gen 2 firmware. i thought they actually were the same firmware, when actually one is 7.9 and the other is the 8.3. my assumption was obviously wrong.

Ok very good. My report does say ver 7.9. I guess I'll try again on the update Saturday. Thanks for that clarification.

weird--i updated camera before i took it out to the camp. at least i followed the steps and the camera gave all the indications on the screen that it was updating.

New to Cuddeback. Initially got a spypoint and a moultrie cell cam to try them out before i went all in on cell cameras. spypoint got sent back as it just wouldnt work. Found Cuddeback and have a G model out there in cell only mode before i expand and build a link network. But i see you tube...
