And magically they’re all “sold out” right before our rifle season starts….

I’m willing to risk it with how those trees grow and produce…

First off, because you’re in PA, get your trees from Whitetail Crabs and BlueHill nursery. You can just run over and pick them up. They are huge, have good roots and produce early (as in crabapples producing the first year in the ground and pears the second). Well worth a couple hours drive...

That spot of green in the timber will bring them in..my thought is (especially at this time of year)..it only takes one hot doe and then you’re in business.

That happens around my parents place too but they usually don’t confine their activities to fall and when confronted say they’re just “hunting coyotes”..didn’t know coyotes had 20 quarts of blood and thick brown and white hair…

Sitting above my house low 40s stiff breeze. Saw a doe right at legal light. Rattled soon after and a big 7 point showed up but wouldn’t come 10 yards closer. Tried a snort wheeze as a last resort and he bolted…at least it tells me there’s some bigger ones around!

I have a video on those same cams 2 days ago of a good 8 chasing and grunting..for now they’re just doing the make scrapes every 10 feet and rubbing every other tree bit..

So a strange thing happened the past 10 days..the bucks that normally show up on my place cruising for does in early to mind November have showed up..and wow have they showed up..several of the biggest bucks I’ve seen on my property have showed up..and several times too! Not quite in daylight...

I’ve done several plantings in northern PA of pear, apples and crabapples into the third week in November had every one of them come back and get to growing well the next spring. Just gotta make sure the ground isn’t frozen solid using a soil temp map. I feel like it gives them a bit of a leg...
