    Late Season KY Deer Hunting.

My Brother moved to KY and we were planning to hunt together but it didn’t work during Oct-Nov. So the only time we can pull it off is the last week of Archery in January. Does anyone have any experience on what the late season is like and what to expect? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Pear Tree Grafts

Need your help. I have some “wild deer pears” I want to graft to a different variety. I know when grafting persimmons to wait until it puts on small leaves. Is that the same with pears? I may have waited to late. The persimmons take longer but the pears have already set flowers and leaves.

Large Diameter Persimmon Tree | Graft??

I found a large male Persimon tree and feel it’s to big to graft as it’s probably a 12-14” tree. Could I cut it at waist height then let it put off sprouts / new growth and then graft to that in a few years? Not sure if a persimmon will sprout back like other trees do. Any ideas?

Direct Plant | Apple Tree Root Stock

What are your thoughts on purchasing root stock and planting it upon receiving. Then allowing it to grow to sufficient size and grafting it with a simple bark graft. That is the only method I have really tried. It’s the same I use with the American Persimmon.

    Water Hole

Tried this habitat improvement. Learned about it from Jeff Sturgis’s Videos. At first not much action but just like he says in his videos the action starts to pick up when they start cruising. Crazy thing is I had just put this camera up about 40 minutes before this pic.

    Too Late For Persimonn Grafting?

Question? I have been advised to begin grafting when the persimon trees have leaves the size of a squirrel ear. I have some that have no leaves at all but some that have larger leaves. Is there a time where it is too late to graft? Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

    White Oak vs Swamp Chestnut

I love both trees and am blessed to have both on my place. The Swamp Chestnut is probably my favorite. Question?? I know the White Oak can be hit or miss with acorn production. Maybe a good year then a few off years. It seems that the Swamp Chestnut is more consistent from year to year. What...

    Failed Persimonn Graft

First time trying persimonn grafting last year. Epic fail. I am amazed at the growth. You can see the failed graft on right and the new growth that started on left. My question is can I cut it off below the Y (fork) and try again?
