    Another Neighbor Thread

I'd be frustrated if I were you. "Good fences make good neighbors" comes to mind. I like the suggestions about knocking some posts in the ground to mark the boundary. I've done that on a couple properties where there is no fence to mark. It's just better if everyone knows where the line is.

    Fish structures

What depth are you guys putting the structure at? I have a rebuilt pond that is slowly filling with all the rain we've been getting, and I'd like to throw some structure in.

    Fish structures

That's a good idea in that picture, I may have to copy that. FYI, I'd never throw barbed wire in a pound. At some point, somebody is going to swim in there.

    Arrowhead and other historic/pre-historic collections

I did join to ask about a few rocks at one time. I'm way too ignorant to be posting on there but it's really interesting to stop in once in a while and see what people are finding. They are really good about answering questions, pretty active site.

Maybe some type of scraper? I'd post a picture of that here https://forums.arrowheads.com/ In the what did I find forum. They will know what you have.

    New House Build

Hard to believe a contractor in 2024 needs to have power on site to build. I rarely see a compressor on a jobsite anymore. The guns are either battery or gas powered, and most everything else is run on batteries. Most guys still run a cord to a miter or table saw but a generator can handle...

    I would never have thought….

That's a good one. I've had a couple odd ones before as well. A raccoon standing down a bobcat, and a video of an owl running off a buck.

Hunting / recreation and timberland values in your location?

$1,000 is an incredible price. If I didn't hate heat , I'd be really tempted to go south for that kind of deal. It's all but impossible to even find pieces that big up here. Buying wild land isn't just about big bucks. It's an investment that doubles as a way of life.

And this is why we are careful with fire…

I burned about 15 acres this morning. There was a couple minutes of panic but overall went without incident.

And this is why we are careful with fire…

I rarely light a fire that I don't instantly regret. It always seems to do what i don't think it can. I still burn but I hate it, I've seen too many get away. I have learned that an atv with a sprayer and boom is extremely effective at stopping a grass fire.

    Soil test results

I'm curious if any soil experts want to take a stab at recommendations here. My usual MO is to bring the soil test to the coop and put on whatever they load up. All 4 fields have been pasture, likely ever since wire was strung in this part of the country. I doubt it has seen much fertilizer...

    Two wheel drive tractors

Chains make a huge difference in the winter on snow and ice, night and day basically. I sure wouldn't want them on in the summer though unless you are putting around real slow and never get on the road.
