I found a King Kutter rotary cutter ("bush hog") for $250 (!!). I had to drive 100 miles for it, but I couldn't believe the price. I often use www.SearchTempest.com to look for stuff on Craigslist outside my area, as I am OK driving some distance to pick 'em up.
There seems to be MANY "re-badged" tractors out there: Cabelas, New Holland, Case IH, etc... It always seems cheaper to buy the "real" brand, rather than a re-painted one. The local dealer quality is what I would be looking at. We rented a Bobcat CT235 a month or so ago for some landscaping...
I use my 9N for disking and brush cutting, both are 5 foot implements. Not as pretty as that Jubilee, though. She looks great. I have the overrunning clutch.
Wow, thanks for the info and link. It definitely was a smooth nut, so it is a horse chestnut. I see no useful purpose of this sapling to me now. At least it saves me from trying to find a place to transplant it in my woods... :)
I have no clue where it came from. I just looked down one day when I was having my sewer rodded out... :) and there it was, mashed down in the yard. I'll have to look around the neighborhood. Are horse chestnut or buckeye's good?
I found a seed/nut in my front yard and when I pulled it up, it had a 2" root started. I stuck in a pot and after a month or so it looks like this. I know nothing of chestnuts in particular.
How should I proceed???
I've been out 4 times since 10/1 opening. Seen 4 does, 2 fawns, no bucks. Crops are still mostly all still up in my area, so once they get harvested, I think it'll pick up.
I HAVE seen 4 dogs, roaming my woods. They're on the hunt too. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
Congrats! I bought my playground with "cash" via home equity loan (right before the bottom fell out...), and just paid it off this spring. No structures at all ('cept the camper I planted there).
Pics?
I have a Double Bull blind, but I don't know the model name. It's nice, and large enough for 2 people, and sets up real fast. The zipper is REAL LOUD, as is the window's "velcro" but that's about the only bad things. I generally only use it in bad weather.
I recently bought a nice 5' King Kutter bush hog for $265.00, found thru CL. All it needed was a few cracked welds fixed and a little paint.
(Maybe this should've been in "large equipment") Mods - plz move...
I'll watch The American Way, Gamekeepers, Get In The Game (too much repeated content lately though), Furtakers and Wingshooting USA, but not much else. Natty's writeup was spot on for most others... I always chuckle when they say they "have the deer patterned". In MY woods, we need our head...
Nice pics Fallguy! I have a 20 gallon black plastic type "pond" or animal trough (TSC), buried in the woods. I have a rain barrel, catching water off my tractor shed. I ran a couple of lengths of garden hose down to the "pond" and hooked up a valve made to keep the level up (also TSC). I...
No, I didn't buy 'em from you. The one in the middle has lost all it's leaves, but now has sprouted NEW GROWTH, for a shooter under the dirt. I have them in cheap potting soil, mixed with real dirt. I'll take the trays away and try and let 'em dry out but with this spring (huge rains here)...
I bought these three cuttings a couple months ago. I transplanted them and kept 'em at home to get them going well before putting them out there "on their own" at my property. One is doing "fair" and the other two are not well at all. I sent these pics to the place where I bought 'em and have...
