Hi there,
Anyone interested in throwing out some varieties of apples for zone 4b? Hennepin county, MN, zone 601
Help me get addicted like many on here are!
Background. Would like to start small. Maybe 5-6 apple trees.
This is my home ground, 11 acres. Running out of room to plant but...
Was able to shoot this cow at 17 yards in the heart on Sunday, Aug 30th in Colorado. Great trip. My dad also shot a cow on The 31st.
Was nice to get the monkey off my back as this was my first elk.
Did hear some bugling most days as well.

Some scenery shots

Want to get the prevailing opinion on matriarch doe's? I hunt 120 acres in 601 and there is a matriarch doe that has been around since at least 2009 when I started hunting the property. She was the first deer I ever captured with trail cam. She has a very distinct dark face. Heck she may be...
I'm planting 25 plum and 25 serviceberry tomorrow. I was planning on planting in a grid pattern going every other tree. Is this a good idea or bad idea? and why? Thanks
Goal is to try and add more diversity to what I've typically done in mostly oaks. I know the plums can potentially turn...
Tree planting season is upon most of us. I'll be planting mostly seedlings such as Dolgo, Plum, Oak and Serviceberry. I just realized that my neighbor has several piles of old cow manure. Would it be worth mixing with black dirt when I backfill my holes?
Thoughts?
I have some bare root Serviceberry coming wondering if I should tube them? And for that matter I have Plum coming too and wondering on that front as well. Fell in love with tree tubes for the first time last year.
Thoughts?
How's this for a deal of the day?!?!
4 rolls on the side of the road with a free sign on them. Comedy as I was driving my car instead of my truck...luckily it was only a mile from the house.
What should I do with these at this point? I just transplanted them from R-18's and wondering what to do over winter? Planted in R-18's late spring, planted some mid-summer and these are what's left. Zone 4b
Have red oaks in R-18's and recently noticed small bugs and a web type structure at the same time my leaves are turning rusty color.
Hopefully you can see it in the picture.
Any ideas what's going on and what to do different?
