My Brother moved to KY and we were planning to hunt together but it didn’t work during Oct-Nov. So the only time we can pull it off is the last week of Archery in January. Does anyone have any experience on what the late season is like and what to expect? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We have been fortunate to have several good hatches the last few years. It really helps that I can hunt several different WMA’s. The habitat and turkey population on the WMA’s has stayed relatively stable. On the local tracts I can hunt we only take a few birds per year.

Extra special turkey. Had a miss earlier this week. Redemption was nice.

We are in the Lowcountry of SC and we have seen some warm temps so far. A few days in the 80’s. Next week they are calling for some below freezing mornings. Going to be rough on my pears and blueberries.

Need your help. I have some “wild deer pears” I want to graft to a different variety. I know when grafting persimmons to wait until it puts on small leaves. Is that the same with pears? I may have waited to late. The persimmons take longer but the pears have already set flowers and leaves.

I found a large male Persimon tree and feel it’s to big to graft as it’s probably a 12-14” tree. Could I cut it at waist height then let it put off sprouts / new growth and then graft to that in a few years? Not sure if a persimmon will sprout back like other trees do. Any ideas?
