    Beans and rebounding from EHD

I can get away with dropping handful of trees but no large scale tsi. The section where I have the yellow tsi circles is already moderately thick and dropping a few trees in strategic spots should encourage bedding close to the large food. The neighbor has ladder stands all over his place and...

    Beans and rebounding from EHD

See attached pics, inside blue is proposed bean/milo mix and approximately 3 acres with rye oat wheat broadcast in fall. I’ll likely run thick strips of sorghum to block sight lines in the beans. Green would be small less than quarter acre kill plot with blind setup for north base winds...

    Beans and rebounding from EHD

It’s hill country se Ohio. Currently it’s used for hay, it was sprayed in September for fall plots but didn’t seed due to no rain. No competition with in a mile or two as far as plotters. Property across road it nasty thicket and houses a couple studs. Trying to tsi this winter spring to bed...

what are your absolute go to trees in these categories for deer draw? Specifically breeds that you have purchased from online dealers or have stumbled across and grafted your own? I’m getting close to maxing out my space and want to finish my orchards with strong draw trees!!

    Beans and rebounding from EHD

I’d be at the farm in early June for a couple weeks, when planting do you see any benefit to a late start date versus a may planting? That’s crazy height!!! Do they retain the pods well or is everything browsed off. I was asking in a previous convo what brand to run as I assumed real world would...

    Beans and rebounding from EHD

That’s kind of what I was thinking. The large field has a county road in view, I’ll have it screened but would also like to have the structure within to block road view.

    Beans and rebounding from EHD

I’m in SE Ohio, got pummeled by EHd. Moving forward I do have a couple survivor bucks that are really solid, one could be real special if he gets thru the gun. There’s a couple good 2.5 and 3.5 as well. I have one or two mature doe and 5-7 fawns based on my pics covering the 130 acres. I’d...

    Anyone planted Gingrich trees?

Has anyone bought from Jay Gingrich? Curious on how the trees look and are growing? I am looking to do an apple order and his apple trees would add to my crab dominated orchards. Curious if anyone can vouch for the quality due to his higher pricing.

    Pear Tree Fire Blight

I lost 10 of my blue hill varieties last summer. We were watering weekly and the trees looked like they had caught on fire by the end of the summer. The drought was wicked, I wasn’t sure if they caught some disease or if the drought just burnt them up.

    Ehd and moving forward

I got a pic over night of a 120” 3 year old, this makes two bucks in this age bracket over three spread out farms in SE Ohio. Ehd has destroyed my properties like many on here. I have couple doe and handful of yearling bucks and fawns across the three properties. Both bucks have poor genetic...

    Fall bare root planting???

With ehd destroying my Ohio herd, I’ll likely be attacking habitat plans during my trip in a few weeks. Would any of you reccomend planting barefoot pear and apple now? I have a good dozen or so trees I’d like to get in the ground, my other option is June which has proven to be dangerous with...

How Much To Water Fruit Trees?

I’m in extreme drought in SE Ohio, my properties lie in the darkest shade of drought on the monitor that there is. One decent rain of a quarter inch since June 20. My new blue hill pears (12) have been watered weekly and often bi weekly with 5 gallons and the last two weeks the leaves have all...
