I considered doing that. Looked into the best trees to buy and everything. Called a local forester just to check (I'd read on the internet 40 yrs would get you to harvest). He said that in my location it would take 80. 80yrs of cattle seemed like a better alternative.
I don't think they even bag corn in white bags anymore. Was in a CO-OP recently and they had pallets stacked high with camouflaged bags of corn. Said that's all they ship now. All the other feeds and whatnot are still regular bags. Big business!
Any benefit to cutting the lower limbs or fertilizing younger walnuts? I walked our place recently and found several trees that I could barely get my arms around and touch palms on the other side. A friend of mine said they'd probably need 15 more years. Wondering if that can be sped up some.

Depends on time of season and how I'm hunting. I could sit the edge a bean field and see 20 does and spikes a night. Or I could sit a mile away on a small bedding area and maybe see one mature buck and nothing else.
Any Ag seed should work. But there are lots of different varieties. Talk with a CO-OP or a dealer and should be able to come up something that fits your needs perfectly.
