WOODS PSS72.... Who can tell me about this planter?

SWIFFY

5 year old buck +
A friend and I all looking at purchasing this planter and Id just like to hear some other opinions on it. It has under 30 hrs and we can pick it up for around 6K. Id be using it for everything from clover and brassicas to corn and beans.

What do you think? Good piece of equipment? Fair price? Good Performance?

Thanks!

Sorry... i guess this belongs in "Large Equipment"....

No biggie but since you mentioned it I moved it.

I have not heard a lot good about them and that's why there are a lot for sale that are almost new. It's a big expensive grain drill.

I don't own one but considering purchasing one myself so I have researched it a lot. After reading of other people's experience with them apparently they are not a great choice for larger seeded items that need to go deeper like corn and beans. Not that it cant do that but there are better options for less money like a custom made planter. My understanding is that the super seeder hunter edition does well with small to medium sized seeds that don't need to go as deep like clovers (from the legume box) and cereal grains.

If you are lucky enough to find a good used no till drill that your tractor can handle in that price range that is they way to go. I have found that hard to do. If you can find a good grain drill (ideally double disk openers) with a large and small seed box that can be a nice seeding option. The one advantage I can see of the super seeder vs a normal grain drill is that it does refine the seed bed with the disc blades and spiked roller and cultipack as well as seed in one pass.

Thanks fellas! This would probably be for MOSTLY corn and beans. Ive done some research and found similar results. Thanks for the input! Our decision is made and this is not what were looking for.
