Who's working in the woods this weekend?

Back in the tractor saddle boyz! Sold my farm last year and bought a new one. Didn’t have time to get fall plots planted last year! Felt so good to get a big fall plot in today! Forgot how much I enjoyed it. Bought a commercial tower stand and setting it up Wed! My youngsters are gonna be spoiled this fall!

Yay! Happy for you Jordan. I got my plots in today as well. Finished in the rain and then the rain came for an extra hour. Hopefully that does the trick. We got a good soaker in Cuba - I hope you get some of that in St Gen! I ground most of the stumps out of my plots this month so I’m hopeful that things will really take off. The ATV acted up on me again and I barely got it back on the trailer. That’s the second time in three years battling the ATV. Its all I’ve got so it’s what I have to use. Plotting is really hard on it though. There’s a tractor in the plans for next year.

Rye, clover, and brassica down today. Didn't get the grass mowed where some of the clover went, I'll go back tomorrow and finish the mowing. 4 days of rain is now 1 day at 40% but it had too be done

Praying for more rain! Been real spotty! Got a heck of a rain at my house in Festus this ev. Hope the farm got it too.
Less stumps in your plots is gonna be nice for you! I have planted lots of plots with ATV’s! They work great with the right disc! What kind of quad you using? I borrowed my father n laws tractor today. Mine sprung a coolant leak. Always something! Lol
His 4120 John Deere has been one heck of a good tractor! It’s has over 6000 hards hrs on it and no major mechanical issues. Good luck on your tractor purchase!

I’ve got a can am 450 outlander and a 60 inch disc. I’ve also got a four foot cultipacker. I’ve only got about an acre and a half of logging road trails and three 1/4 to 1/3 acre harvest plots. It’s rocky ground but making progress. Ironically I was in exactly the same place and at the same amount of working time when I had my breakdown. Last time it was the fuel pump and it’s acting exactly the same. I’ve priced out a Kubota b 2601 with a disc, box blade, and 4 foot rotary cutter. I’ve got about a half mile of shared roadway to mow And then my clover trails. I don’t have room for a big tractor but the little BX’s are too small. When this COVID stuff is over and I’m back to a full work schedule again the tractor is on the list.

Crazy it happened in the same spot! I have heard nothing but good things about can am quads. Actually been shopping around for a good used one.
In ref to tractors. Check out the kioti ck series before you pull the trigger. They are great little tractors. Rose bud tractors carrys them an is not far from Cuba. They are really good to work with. Great customer service! Also back to those kioti tractors. Their are guys buying the smaller HP models and tuning the motors for more HP with very good results;) Just some food for thought!

Little upsetting, didn't have to drive nearly far enough to find these guys. If you start to see them in your area to do everything you can to eradicate them. Visual cues as to their presence is a blackening of the leaves as the sooty mold grows on their excrement. Very very very bad bugs. Spotted lanternfly

well, saw some spoted Lantern fly even closer to my house today, Wharton NJ. Guys, you might want to keep an eye out for them as they will be you next worst nightmare.
the ones I saw today were again on Ailanthus species. I also notice them this weekend on black walnut, osage orange, thorny sumac, and another understory tree the I for the life of me, can't remember the name.

Is that made or bought? It looks awesome

that is the clover plot from last spring that I mowed a few weeks ago and has rebounded kinda nice. no buck on a bag junk here, good ole farm seed.

Sorry I was talking to @Jordan Selsor about that blind. You plot looks awesome too though.

Had a nice surprise this weekend. Underneath one of my dustan chestnuts I found a Seedling. Pretty cool not sure if I want to try and move it as it is only a few feet from the trunk of the mother plant. Has anybody else found volunteers under there's?
