Wheels for cultipacker needed

BobinCt

Looking for 20 used cultipacker wheels that are 15" and 2" diameter. The axle is going to be steel and 1 7/8th. I'm located in Connecticut. I know it's probably a long shot to find this many, but anything is possible. They sell (10) brand new for $550 at everythingattachments.com. Wanted to find used tho. Any leads, please pass along.

Try either farm equipment auctions or check at equipment dealers in your area to see if they have any used ones or if they know where you could some.

you could call a scrap metal recycler and tell them what you are looking for. Lots of that stuff gets junked as scrap and if you are willing to pay more than the scrap value I bet they would sell it to you before melting it down.

Will do. Never realized how expensive these packers are.

might want to list where your at, as shipping far can make a price out of reason real fast, there NOT light if you get good one's

also might want to say what type of axle you need them for, there not all the same, so, if you find say 10 here and 10 else where, your going to want to be sure there all teh same , so they will work?

I also suggesting calling larger farm scrap yards, they many times have broken down things they will gladly part out, or maybe know where to find some??

another thing to try is honestly, driving about older smaller farm area's
I have seen countless one's laying about no longer in use, as modern farmers don't use them no more , due to changes in farming and equipment they use now!

I'm in PA, so, not sure where you are?

Agrisupply.com has some (smaller then your looking for). For $10 each. Don't know about shipping $ though

Agri supply http://www.agrisupply.com/cultipacker-wheel/p/62078/ 20 brand new at $9.49 a piece. Here's a PIC of our build. We only have about $350 in it. Picked up the square tubing and 1 3/4" steel rod locally from a metal shop, wheels from Agri, pillow block bearings and end spacers on the internet. Good luck.

I have 13 or so of these wheels you are talking about. They have a collar on them that allows another piece to be slipped over them between the wheels. I have been unable to find that other part. They are yours for $100 plus shipping, which I dont think would be very cheap. They are fairly heavy. You could machine off that lip to get them to fit together.

pending design of packer, many were designed to be able to move independently from each other, so that lip, was there to allow a little room/play between each disc, this way they can conform to rocks and such and help with self cleaning and not clogging up with dirt and such
also keep in mind a LOT of the older blade/s disc's, were made of cast iron, not an easy metal to work on or repair if needed, and they be rather heavy too LOL

Buck- can u check how much shipping would be? If too much, I'll end up buying the ones from Agri Supply.

Sorry for the slow response. Here is a picture of the wheels that I have. 14 of them all together. I really dont have time to mess with getting them shipped. Located 50 miles west of Minneapolis just off highway 7. As you can see from the second picture there is a collar that keeps them from fitting together tightly. I do believe diameter on the wheels is 15".

How wide are each of them?

Buck- I called for the shipping price and it would cost about $300 just for the shipping. Obviously too much. If I lived close by, I would already have bought them from you. Maybe someone close to you can benefit from them. Thx again.

Buck, I'd love to come get them from you!
