Not sure where we had this thread before but one of my favorites.
I will start. First time trying this. Back strap wrapped in bacon grilled on the egg. I am at 200 degrees and planning on 1.5-2 hours. Updates to follow

That looks really good.

I'm still a fan of breaded deep fried backstrap bites with brown gravy.
Breaded anything yearling is good also.:D

Must be at the farm alone this weekend. Seems like that's the only time I eat hotdogs.
My drink would be a light Carmel color with rocks.

Yep, wife is in Nashville with our Daughter.

Went through all the Irish Whisky already, got beer left for dinner. Not starving here Bill!

Home run!!! I will be doing this one again. Threw on a couple chickens for the non venison eaters.

I wish I could keep her out but she is my mother in-law! I didn't know how it would turn out so I played it safe for the kids. They loved it. MIL tried one bite and said it was okay. Shouldn't have wasted one bite on her.

Sorry no pics but we just had some ribeyes, sweet corn, and sweet potatoes off the grill. And a purslane salad for dessert :).

Have you tried it? Pick a bowl full and toss some dressing on it. "Cleans" up the garden and is loaded with good healthy stuff.

Never tried it. Feel free to come over and pick all you want!:D

I've got plenty in my garden, that's where tonight's snack came from ;). It's surprisingly good.

I'll share what I do for a good side dish with venison, chicken or burgers. Slice zucchini into 1/2" thick strips lengthwise, sweet onions the same thickness, and green and red peppers into quarters. Put them all into a plastic bowl with a tight-fitting lid or a gallon zip-lock bag. Dump some Italian salad dressing into bowl or bag ( don't skimp ) and seal lid or zip-lock. Toss around until well coated & place in frig. for 6 hrs. ( or over night for more intense flavor ).

I grill them in a stainless, 2" deep, 18" x 12" grill pan that has 5/16" holes in it AFTER the meat is done and is " resting " to re-absorb juices. Veggies only take about 5 to 10 minutes once the grill is already hot - depending on temperature. We like them when they just get some brown on them. Delicious !!!

Makin' me hungry Badger ......... X-2 for meat marinade.

It was a couple weeks ago, but here's my last blackstrap....

Serrano cream cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped, and covered in a Sriracha/cranberry/spiced rum sauce...

Here we go - Ikeman threw down the gourmet gauntlet !!! Bobby Flay - Guy Fieri kind of recipe. These food threads always get rolling !!

Here is my favorite marinade for steak tips.
16oz coke
1 cup ketchup
1 packet of good seasons salad dressing mix.
If you want it spicey add your choice of heat.
Marinate for 24 hours.

I can't compete with that! The coon were gracious enough to leave us a few ears of sweetcorn from our first planting. Yes, I like it cut off the ear. We like it cut off the ear and fried in a pan too.uploadfromtaptalk1470182312916.jpg
