What's for dinner?

A lazy Christmas eve mid morning breakfast, after 6 days of oatmeal, bran fiber, flax seed, bananas, blue berries ... this seemed to hit the spot. Eggs, fried onions & potatoes, and knackwurst ... :emoji_yum:

The dog wants some!

I can see it in his or her eyes.
Bill, take it from someone with quite a bit of experience reading hungry dog eyes, if you think it only wanted "some" I believe you may have misinterpreted the communication. :emoji_wink:

Christmas dinner. Two of the kids are on the road but the other three were all home. 12 oz. thick cut sirloin, twice baked potatoes, cheddar cheese rolls, sautéed mushrooms, Caesar salad and a nice Cabernet. We’re also having chocolate cream pie for dessert - after we digest a little bit.

Bill ... he gets a fried egg every Sunday morning ... just went through cancer surgery on his lower jaw ... his is my best habitat buddy all day long ... gonna spoil him every day!

Did our traditional 3 bone Rib Roast for New Years last night. The no peek method makes these almost fool proof with a meat thermometer.

Medium rare with some good bark, green beans, scalloped potatoes and some creamy horseradish sauce ... will have to double up on my fiber this week ... :emoji_yum:

Bill ... looks great! How do you make the egg, cheddar, ham bake?

EZ to make.

1 small ham steak diced.
1/3 of an onion diced fine
1/4 TSP chili powder. (It's not over powering but adds something)
1/4 TSP black pepper
I don't add salt because you seem to get some out of the ham.
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar.
10 eggs

Whisk it all together and put it into cup cake trays sprayed with cooking spray. Don't fill the trays all the way up as they seem to rise. Should get 10 put of the mix.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

I throw all kinds of stuff in them but that's what I had on hand.

Was feeling like something different, so I decided to seek some revenge on the foes that forced me to replant my green beans this spring. Made it home from work with just enough time to sneak out back the house.

I've never tried rabbit but their population has been increasing at my place...

With the drop in temps, decided to try the night bite an for-go any habitat stuff for the weekend.
Cold beer, good tunes, playing cards an the ice castle made for a nice 2 day getaway.
Didn't quite hammer the fish, but brought home enough for a couple of meals.
Started last night with one of my favorites.
Fish Tacos - Beer battered walleye, with blue cheese coleslaw, little shredded lettuce & cheese, and fresh slices of jalapeno.

Another chowder. This one made with walleye from where we vacation in MN, Cass Lake. Seems like every year I'll come across a bag of fillets that were overlooked in the freezer from two years ago. So chowder on a cold winter day has become a tradition. The vast majority all get fried (no heresy!). This was a few days ago. Complete with the plastic Cass wine glasses and pottery made up by Bemidji somewhere.
