What's for dinner?

Kind of a lousy picture, because I covered the main course up with cheese.... Tonight I tried a DIY Philly Cheese Steak. I had a large sirloin steak left from the last beef we bought so I grilled it to medium rare and mixed it in with peppers, onion, soy/worcestershire, garlic and salt & pepper.

I wouldn't feed it to any of you east coast guys... You would probably beat me up just for trying. But it turned out well enough that I'll do it again in the future.

Sorry John ... that looks like you were the last one to the serving line ... I hope you will get enough food to survive the winter ... :emoji_anguished:

What's up with the 6 fries? You were robbed by the chef. ;)

Had an itch for chicken fried steak ... so I made it for breakfast morning ... :emoji_yum:

Oh that's a favorite but I like it for dinner with brown gravy.

Good plan. I'm sure it was good but that's wrong on so many levels :emoji_grinning:

I knew I was going to get busted for that.... I'm not getting any younger. I gotta watch my figure!

So many levels I don't even know most of them. If you are ever over at my house for dinner, I won't make them! :emoji_hamburger:

My wife and I have stopped thinking we are going to be in a speedo & string bikini again ... well, okay, maybe I am screwed up enough to think that.

Loose the fries, cheese, & processed bread ... too many carbs. Think Paleo ...:emoji_thumbsup:

:emoji_scream::emoji_scream::emoji_scream: No cheese. You can have the fries and bread that lasts a month. But not my cheese.

Paleo breakfast ... baked sausage, egg, tomato, & basil muffin ...

Simmer for an hour. Put it in the blender. Add heavy cream and it's darn good tomato soup

Good wheat goes well.

Oops, don't forget the garlic!

Italian wedding soup in the back but I've posted that. Made a few batches to freeze in single portions. Cold fall days are coming....

Pureed carrots

Not going to lie. I thought you went to the tree hugger side the way you started that post. But you saved yourself in the end. The soup looks great!

Maybe I'll make cheese steaks next week :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But honestly it's hard to explain a good steak roll. Which makes it. I've been all over the place and kinda have a love hate relationship with the north east. But there is something about the water in the NE that makes good bread. Crunchy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside.

Hard to explain. Kinda like Jerky. You need teeth to get through the outside. But once you do........

Nice Bill...that makes me want a good tomato bisque with a nice Panera Bread baguette.

Agree with Bill on a good steak roll. ( post # 352 ) Gotta have that crust on the outside & soft, chewy inside. Not tree-bark crust, but a flexible crust that lets you squeeze the sandwich and not crumble away in a million pieces. You know it when you have one in your hand !!! :emoji_yum:
Soup looks good enough to send me a sample !!

We canned some venison recently and had a couple jars that didn't seal. So I cooked some up tonight "pulled pork" style:

Then we added BBQ sauce to some of it and made nachos (the rest is saved for hot beef lunches):

Best foodie thread on the net!

Wanted something easy tonight opted for stir fry, had some shrimp and sausage found a few other things to ad in the fridge.

Darn for a fridge throw together that looks good.
