What's for dinner?

Bacon & cheese quiche and a broccoli & mushroom quiche. Plenty of meat in this one John. Six slices of bacon on the bottom, a cup and a half inch of shredded cheddar with half a bag of bacon bits mixed in and six more pieces of bacon on top.

Did another chuck on the grill last night. Ended up going for about 3 hours as I am working on a desk for my daughter to take to college. The deadline on the desk is this Sunday so time got away from a bit. I flipped it a few times in the 3 hours and it got a nice crispy crust on it which was delicious. From the garden came green beans, swiss chard, cucumber and tomatoes. A little Italian dressing and blue cheese on the greens and cottage cheese over the tomatoes. Cheese burgers on the grill tonight with sweet corn from the road side stand in town.

Well worth the effort, have done it with my boys many times. After your pic I see I'm due again!
There used to be a nice little joint we would stop at on the east end of the Bay Bridge when we would go out to Crisfield MD to chase ducks, they would bring out the blue crabs piled up high on big pizza trays and we would pick till we couldn't and throw the shells right over the railing into the bay.

Bill - That pic of the crabs in post # 303 gave me an idea. I can't get blue crabs easily, but I'm gonna pick up some shrimp and salmon to throw on the grill for tonight's supper. Baste with some garlic butter while grilling, use some oak & hickory chips for smoke flavor. I think the wife will be happy when supper's ready !!!

I love shrimp on the grill. My son likes his brushed with BBQ sauce but I prefer them plain Jane.

Shrimp went so well Friday I got more and marinated in canola oil, lime juice, fresh garlic, a few splashes of soy sauce, and Caribbean jerk seasoning. Marinated for about 8 hours. Grilled 'em with 3/8" thick slabs of zucchini and roasted potatoes. My wife and I destroyed that meal !!!

Running low on the beef we bought (Fleckvieh, amazing beef).

Using up the round steaks. I like to make kabobs out of round steak:

Marinade of your choice, onions, peppers, mushrooms, pepper and seasoning salt:

They are no Rib-eye, but are pretty tasty when done:

John your kabobs struck a craving with me.

Venison loin from last year's buck, peppers and tomatoes from the garden, onions and sweet corn from the farm stand.

This is from a fishing trip a few weeks ago. Walleye "Fish Tacos". The guy in charge of the food came up with it. He had some kind of coleslaw he added to them. They were delicious.
