What happened to Ben from Maine?

He was a main contributor at the qdma forums with apples Bnhpr. Last time he posted was 2014 just curious.

Ben was a great source of knowledge. I think that he purchased a large chunk of acreage just across the road from his farm just before he stopped posting. Maybe too busy to keep up with it all and continue to post. He was a wealth of information and I am sure has been missed by all of us apple growers.

I heard tell he is still there.

Ben. What the heck is going on man? I miss your posts! I've planted around 50 trees and grafted around 200 more with over 75 different varieties thanks to your sharing of knowledge. The wildlife on my farm is on verge of fruit overload, thanks for the help! Glad to see you here.

I was supposed to plant my apple trees this weekend but i think this snow storm is going to cancel that.

Heyyyyyy Ben good to hear from you. I have learned more from this guy than anyone else about apples, cider, hard cider etc etc. How are you doing Ben. Please be a regular here. I am going to be over 400 trees now and have made 2 batches of great hard cider. Thanks again and welcome. Glad you are still around

My second me for is Maya or as I know him as George and the life saver lol

Be careful with the cider, I have seen it change a person. My dad's friend kicked the windshield out of his own truck after a drinking a gallon of it.

Not there yet. Have only had a few so far. Did a pure Honeycrisp this year that I hope to try soon. Got a bunch of Old English varieties to graft this year. Hope they take

I have tried a few of the commercial ciders and they seem to sweet. Are there any commercial varieties that someone recommends?

Eve's cidery may be able to ship to you. One of the Cummins is one of the owners.

You can get some of mine when I press it. I don't pasteurize and have had some awesome blends for sweet cider and I think my hard ciders are pretty decent too. Buy a press and make your own
