Isn't that something?!!? 1" predicted for my area, not a drop! I was oh so close to spreading some urea on my topseeded rye in a bean plot yesterday afternoon....but I didn't!

The turkeys are likely enjoying all the rye I seeded a week and a half ago. I may have to throw another bag on the plot next time up to compensate.

Haven't had any rain for about a month now. Brassicas were looking good but I feel with no rain in sight, they may start to go downhill. I feel you bueller, I spread 50 pounds of rye on my new clover plot 2 weeks ago since we were suppose to get rain and now it's missed up twice. Been a very frustrating year.

I'm just ready for the season to open at this point. Although it's looking like I may not get out early season much, if at all :emoji_angry:

I checked on my other bean plot yesterday that I topseeded with rye about two weeks ago, no rye to be found anywhere. I also have a cam on this plot....vids of two sandhill cranes marching up and down the bean rows.

We had 5" on Wednesday! Then 2 days of sun and breeze. Planted oats, cereal rye, wheat, peas and soybeans Saturday. Then got another 3/10's yesterday! I guess I cant complain!

Hallelujah. After a bunch of swing and misses since planting I'm finally getting a good soaker right now! :emoji_cloud_lightning::emoji_cloud_rain:

Send it south west!
We got some last week. Could use more....

Rained again at my place today, Bill! You didn't get it? I had a pic from the farm with my mineral lick full of water.

Us too ... finally!

Probably ~ .25 - .5 inches since last night :emoji_slight_smile:

Thunder & lighting in the west ... maybe more on the way ...

No, we were supposed to but we got nothing but clouds.

Pops says I had nearly 2" of rain in my gauge! He had almost 3" a mile away. And those just a couple miles west of us didn't get a drop.

Plus a quick line just pushed through moments ago. My rye should be up and running now.

Just got about .8 right now, though the forecast was for only .15. Should have put my cereal mix in today...........

I used to plant Labor Day weekend but after several years of dry September's and really late germinating rye (week into bow season before useful) I now plant in the middle of August. Plots will be lush green for the bow opener.

Got .38" last nite, still about 2" behind for the month.

It keeps missing us here...thirty miles north or south get an inch or two, we a tenth or two.

I haven't seen it myself but I'm being told my plot is greening up and some of the rye is 2" tall :emoji_seedling:

-22° right now with the wind chill. I was going to go shoot a doe tonight.
