Yes we are not very creative with names. Last year I shot Coors and so far this year 12 Pack and Budweiser (because he is heavier than coors) are on the hit list.
Any thoughts on this deer? Age and or Score? In our book he is a shooter, but we are trying to start aging them too.
Tough to judge small pictures and only one each. The smaller one minimum a 3 year old. I'll give the other one 4 years old. I'm not even that good at it with lots of pictures :)
I got one thing to say....."BOOM!" or "Thwack!" if you prefer!!!! Nice deer, real nice deer.....unless you are behind a fence or control a lot of property with some reasonable expectation to ever see him again you better shoot if given the chance. He isn't going to be allowed to walk past too many hunters..... Age/score him once he is down.....they hold still better that way.....and make for a better story! Good luck with this guy!!!!
Yeah, looks like a pretty squared off, deep torso. I think he's pretty mature. Lot of antler there to add up. I bet he's 160's easy with all those points.
Here are a couple of other ones of him from earlier in the year. As for waiting we will not be waiting on him, but we do see deer from year to year on our farm. We currently have two on our hitlist and one was around all last year. We think this one might be one too. I will find a pick from last year to show you guys and see what you think.
Those are both great deer. I especially like the tight racked 12. I'm also going to agree with the thought that 4 y/o at a minimum based on body at the time of year pictures are taken. They will both look a whole lot different in early Nov.
He would be the largest deer antler wise on any of my properties this season...so no matter age being 100% honest he is getting an arrow. Age wise I'm at 4 minimum personally...hard to tell without a history and numerous pictures at different times in his gate. Nice!
