September 1 through ~October 20, mature buck pictures.... let's discuss

My camp had 12 bucks coming in to the plots most evenings in the summer and into early fall. Cams recorded all of them together. Lots of pix with 9 or 10 bucks in the same picture. Most had 7 points or better, up to 10 points, and most were ear-width or wider. Now ........ they have dispersed to wherever, and the ones that still show up are well after dark - usually 2 hours after dark from the time stamp. Typical for us each archery season.

I think they use underground tunnels at times.

During the time frame you mentioned, most resident mature buck pics will be in plots at night, with a good possibility of evening daylight pictures. Most years I will only have from 1 - 4 resident bucks four or older. Last year I had 2 five year olds, and this year is a down year, with only one resident four year old.

It is just now (end of October) getting the time that I will expect new mature bucks to show up here. I actually expect to see a new one when I check cameras on Saturday, but who knows.......

Anytime after October 31, a new one could come in at any time, and the second rut in December is the most likely time for that every year.... Low pressure, food left over, and does left to breed.....
